I'm amazed at all of the 5.0 ratings... We moved to Forest Oaks (now Fayette Crossing) from New Orleans following Katrina... Had we known then what we know now... The only real change we saw when Empire Mgmnt bought the facility was an outdoor painting of the building. Parking is a problem, our cars were dinged constantly and other tenants were confronted more than once about sitting on our cars while drinking. Mgmnt suggested the police... The apartment two floors below us burned almost two years ago and remains boarded up... The grounds on the office side of the street is well kept, not so the other side of the street. Maint was amature at best with leaks needing repeated visits. Personnel left tears in the kitchen linoleum when changing out a stove... We called the police 4x's regarding domestic disputes in other apartments, fights in the common area, and pot being smoked on the first floor common area. The price is reasonable however, if one has the means - - - I would not recommend Fayette Crossing. We moved out June 1st, conducted out move out inspection and were told that we had cleaned much more thorougly than we needed to. We were told to come to the office mid-June to pick up our deposit - no dice... Told to come end of June to pickup - nope... This time we were told that Mgmnt had 30 days to mail. Went back mid July - again, nope. This time visisted with Jamison the Mngr on 13 July, was told to come see him on Wed 15 July, he was 'out of the office' and employees refused to contact him for us. Indeed - my wife was treated with extreme disrespect and insensitivity. I am going to post this review on all sites I can find and will be contacting Empire Mgmnt regarding their choice of employees. In addition - we have contacted the Lex Daily Herald and they recommend that we post a letter to the editor that they will print... Oh BTW, all phone calls resulted in left messages with absolutely not one returned phone call. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU CAN LIVE ELSEWHERE.

Hello, this is Jamison with Empire Management. Once again, it looks like we have a resident who is upset about one thing, but has chosen to write a review full of truths, half-truths, and lies in order to exact revenge. While I think this site is great and that truthful reviews are helpful to both residents and managers, I don't think that lies and exaggerations help anybody. In this case, the dispute is about a deposit refund that they are owed. That is a legitimate gripe, and I address it below. First, I wanted to truthfully address the other issues brought up in the review.
Parking - The corner of the parking lot where your apartment (# 19) was located does have tighter parking than the rest of our parking lot, but most tenants still don't seem to have a problem finding a spot. If you find an apartment complex where door dings don't happen, please let me know, as I'd like to know how they do it! Grounds - We take equally good care of the grounds on both sides of the street. It's true that one side has an interior courtyard while the other one doesn't, but that's just the way the buildings are set up. In fact, on the ground floor right outside your apartment was a nice little walkway, a pretty green pet area, and a park-like area with a really big, shady tree. The only problem we've had was tenants taking their pets out for a walk and not picking up the poop. One especially stubborn tenant had to receive several verbal warnings, several written warnings, and the threat of eviction before they started picking up after their pet. That tenant was you, Chuck. Drinking - You say that more than once other tenants were confronted about sitting on your cars while drinking. I doubt that this happened while we owned the property. I guarantee you that I would have handled that situation immediately and with finality. We simply do not allow alcohol outside or in any common area. I live right around the corner from you and would have been there immediately if you had reported it. Our phone number is 859-273-6264 and it is answered 24/7. Nobody on my staff told you to simply contact the police. That's my job. Fire - Yes, there was a suspicious fire in an empty apartment exactly two floors below yours on August 14, 2008 (not quite a year ago). The damage was contained entirely to that apartment, and thank goodness nobody was hurt. My maintenance supervisor even ran into the smoke to help open doors so residents could evacuate safely. As you know, your son Randall, who is currently in jail on other arson charges, is the person who said he "found" that fire and he is my prime suspect for starting that fire and another on the property. I'm amazed that you would complain about it. Simply amazed. Police - If you called the police four times in your four years here, I was certainly never made aware of it. Again, I live right across the parking lot from you. I handle all noise complaints and security issues personally. Our phone number is 24 hours. Most of the time, I am faster and much more concerned about any problems here than the police are. In my two years here, I have had two incidents in your breezeway that involved the police. The first was a noise complaint on the bottom floor, and the tenant was subsequently evicted. The second was a noise complaint and domestic dispute at your apartment. I guarantee you, if you inform me of a noise complaint, I will be there. if you inform me of a domestic dispute, I will be there and so will the police. If there??s a fight in the parking lot, I will be there and so will the police and any person involved will be arrested and evicted. If someone is smoking pot in a breezeway, I will be there and so will the police and any person involved will be arrested and evicted. We don't mess around. If all of these incidents really happened, and you're not just making them up, then you never bothered to make any member of my staff aware of it. Maintenance - You state that leaks needed repeated visits. That's probably true. Sometimes leaks take repeated visits. Sometimes the work demands it, and sometimes you think you got the leak and you didn??t. It happens, but I'm not sure it means that our staff is "amateur". They work very hard to take care of our tenants. As far as the tears in the linoleum, you are correct. When your stove went out one night, and we replaced it the next day (remember, we bought you that extra-large Royal Feast from Sir Pizza so you didn't have to cook that night?), we made tears in the linoleum. You have been complaining about that for two years. Let it go, Chuck! They're tiny, and don't look bad! I've got your apartment up for rent right now, and I haven't even changed the linoleum! ( If anybody wants to come see it, stop on by! Even Chuck admits it's a good price! ) Deposit Refund - You're right it took too long, and that??s entirely my fault. When you stopped by on Monday, I said the same thing, and told you to call me on Wednesday and if I didn't have it done right then, then I would get it done right away. I did not tell you to send your wife over to yell at my leasing agent and my maintenance supervisor while I was in a meeting on the other side of the property. If one of them was rude to her when she yelled at them, well, that may not be as professional as they should have been, but I'm not going to discipline them for it either. I kept my word. Your wife came and picked up the deposit check today. I apologize for the delay. Chuck, you've lived here since October 2005. Your lease has been month-to-month since November 2007. You could have moved out any time you wanted. But, for the last 19 months straight you have made the choice that this is where you wanted to live. If the only change you've seen during that time is new paint, then you're not looking. You know as well as I do that this place has changed a lot in the last two years. It's safer, cleaner, quieter, and better maintained than it ever has been. You made it your home, and now it's ready to be somebody else's home. Good luck in New Orleans. If anybody else wants to come see apartment 19, it's ready to show! Thank you. Jamison A. Barrow Vice-President of Operations Empire Management, LLC |

Dude...your "professional" reply to this guy's complaints makes me not even want to look here. Telling a former tenant's name, kid's name, and former apartment number on a public website is pretty creepy.

Wow... You are certainly insensitive and based on your grammer, misspellings, use of questionable invective, and ignorance of punctuation - well, good luck:-) I hope you find Fayette Crossing adequate but I will not change my opinion and OBTW - the 'ethicalness' of attacking one's opinions with personal attacks smacks of the lowest form of corporate professionalism... Paix!

well, its actually pretty nice knowing that he is aware of their names and where they lived. in my opinion, no criminal deserves privacy. If he is in jail for arsen charges, and was suspected of starting a fire before that, I think Chuck should be worrying about wtf he did wrong while raising his son that he is so ignorant he doesnt understand this countries consequences, instead of making up lies that i see were backed up. So far after 2 days of nonstop looking at apartmens and the ratings, this is my only choice. Not because dumbass kids start fires, but because the manager keeps up to date with whats really going on... and because 3 out of 4 people recomend.
