It was hard to leave, but...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived at The Fountains during the past year. Overall I have to say that I enjoyed the experience, but there were a few problems. Moving day was an issue: the apartment wasn't ready, and I mean to the point the carpets still needed to be cleaned. So we couldn't move in furniture the day we were supposed to. The parking is a major problem. For some odd reason a one bedroom apartment building is surrounded by parking, yet my two bedroom building that sat next to it had only ten spots in front of it. Parking was a nightmare. My car was broken in to and I had things stolen from it. When I told the staff about this, they seemed to think I was making it up, as if that couldn't happen there. The police didn't seem to think I was lying. We had several maintenance issues when we moved in that weren't taken care of in a timely manner, considering the cost of the place. The building we were in kept shiftin throughout the year, making doors that once closed impossible to latch shut. I don't know if the buildings were built very well because we could always feel our neighbors walking. The lawncare people seem to always be there and always start cutting the grass at 7 or 8 in the morning. I understand having a pet deposit if you have a pet, but $300 plus $20 a month, when the place only allows cats! I think that's a bit extreme.
I will say that Teresa, the manager, is the brightest part of living there. There seemed to be quite a rotation of staff in just the one year I lived there, but she is great. She is so nice and always remembers every face. The pool is one of the nicest in town. The cable being included with rent is really nice, plus the washer and dryer.
