Lake Pointe

One of Lakepointe's selling points is its easy access to the body of water from which it draws its name.

What the manager fails to tell you, however, is that MAACO and LPA do not own the land adjacent to the lake; as a resident of Lakepointe Apartments, you will be in violation of the law if you trespass along the shore of the bank.

The office staff was smiley and pleasant, but generally incompetent; they were rarely in the office between 1-6 PM each time I stopped to pay my rent, and seemed to communicate solely by little pieces of paper that I would find taped to my door by some mysterious apparition.

Communication is similarly difficult. If you have a problem or dispute and wish to speak with the individual in charge, you'll quickly find that there is no one in charge--the community is owned by a faceless corporation in which no one is responsible for anything in particular outside of collecting debt. It's like something out of Grapes of Wrath.

The apartments are fine, the groundskeeping is fine, and the maintenance is fine. What is not fine, however, is the fact that this apartment community misleads tenants about lake access and fails to keep accurate books (on more than one occasion they missed a rent payment, possibly because I had to mail it to them, as they were never in the office to receive it).

I would highly recommend you look somewhere else; I'd also recommend that you avoid all MAACO-owned properties, as I'm sure they suffer from similar levels of incompetence.
