Meadows

 

Where do I start' First time at renting any type of apartment on my own, I HAD a 1BR on the 3rd floor at the Meadows.

Everything was great until 4th of July weekend when my A/C went out.

Being out of town for one day, I returned to an apartment that was well over 100 degrees inside with two cats that I almost took to the vet to see if they were suffering from a heat stoke.

Maintance took over 5 hours to get to the apartment.

My cats and I had to move back in with my parents for almost a week because they had to order a new unit.

Even after replacing that the A/C only worked when it wanted too.

Had to call maintance twice before I moved about the A/C.

Never had an electric bill under $60.00 (One bedroom/One person)! Floor was very squeeky even though I was on the 3rd floor! Vistor parking sucks! Living in the front of the property and vistor parking was at the back of the property.

That is the longest walk with no sidewalks or paths.

A friend was parked in the resident's area, helping me carry in some things and within 10 minutes, his car was on a tow-truck.

Had to pay $80.00 to get it down.

After 4 months, I transferred to a two bedroom on the ground floor with a friend.

2nd bedroom was very small.

Hallway outside was really dark, especially for 2 females.

Again the floors were very squeeky and felt as if they were going to fall through.

When winter rolled around, we were rolled up in blankets!!!My roommate had a toddler, he was seen in the ER three times, with the flu because of the aprtment heating problems.

We walking around the apartment with blankets, coats, pants, shoes, and socks! Our electric bill for the months of DEC 2002 and Jan 2003, it was a combined bill of $550.00! We went through the apartment trying to find the cold air and it was coming from the closet floors.

There were HOLES between the baseboards and floors.

In my room, the hole was large enough that my cats could crawl to the OUTSIDE! We told management and we were "seeing things"! According to the Code Enforcement, we weren't! They came in the apartment after we gave management plenty of time to fix it.

They gave the Meadows two weeks to get us out of that apartment into another.

Just our luck there were no apartments avalable, so they had to break our lease without us paying a thing! A week before we were completely moved out, the heat broke again(SURPRISED)! The bathtub was filled with room temp.

water and lefted over night.

We we returned the night morning, the temp.

of the water was 27 degrees and the was with the heating on and "working".

We are now far from the Meadows and the was a lesson learned.

I will always tell everyone I pass, not to rent or even think about the Meadows! Please take note of my lengthy complaint, that the Meadows are the worst place to live!
