Stay away from here!

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
The Meadows is definitely not worth the money - at least not in my opinion. We have lived here in a first floor for about 4 years and have had nothing but problems. We haven't been able to afford to move, but we finally have the money and we are out.
The day we moved in, the dishwasher backed up and flooded the kitchen and part of the living room. We had to buy a wet vac to get the water out of the carpet.
The winters are cold and the summers are hot inside these apartments. There is so much air coming around our sliding door that the vertical blinds sway in the breeze. From the first summer we lived here, we had problems with the a/c unit. Either it wouldn't work, was frozen up or was leaking. Maintenance would band-aid it enough to get through the season then it would start all over again. A year or so ago, our AC unit went completely out in July. It was out for 8 days (95 degrees!) with maintenance telling me that it was fixed the whole time. During this time, the porches were being taken off and replaced. Ours hadn't been taken off yet but the sliding door was NAILED SHUT! Serious fire code violation. Finally, I pitched a fit and they replaced the a/c unit. The heating and cooling bills are outrageous - at least $70.00 a month in the spring and fall with little or no a/c or heat used.
The flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms is curled up under the cabinets and is really nasty looking. The bathtubs and toilets have mold in them two days after they have been cleaned. Vistor parking stinks and don't dare have someone park in front of your apartment for a minute or two because they will get towed.
When we moved in, the faucets in the bathrooms had some kind of black gunk all over them. I don't know what it was but it was very hard to remove.
Also, don't take a verbal answer from anyone in the management office. Over the last two months, I have been accused of lying to them about two separate problems.
Sorry to be so lengthy. I could go on and on but won't. I will just advise anyone looking at the Meadows to keep right on walking.
