Old Farm was adequate

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005
I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment at the back of Old Farm for 2 years (2003-2005). The apartments were better on the end because they had more windows. I chose not to have the fireplace because of cold air/hot air loss. The kitchen was decent. A stand-up shower in the master and a tub shower in the guest bath. I wished they had both been tub baths. I had W/D hookups but didn't get a washer and dryer. I walked about 100 yards to one of 2 or 3 laundry facilities on site. There were 2 washers and dryers in the room ($1 wash and dry) and I almost never had to wait to use the equipment. I befriended maintenance and was able to get everything fixed quickly and correctly once the maintenance guys got the repair orders from management. Getting the orders from management to maintenance was tricky at times. The facilities were pretty nice. The pool and hot tub were always clean and I don't ever remember them being shut down while I was there. They bought 2 tanning beds before I left but I don't use them. The gym had 2 treadmills, one elliptical trainer, 2 stationary bikes, and one of a variety of weight machines. Not huge, but adequate. The tennis courts were horrible. They converted the worst one to a dog play area with some agility equipment and a track running the perimeter. Huge blessing for my dogs! I do remember hearing that the apartments in the front of Old Farm (lining Appian Way) were nosier and more difficult to park in. I did have to deal with a tenant below me who's dog barked constantly. I called management multiple times and they didn't seem to do much at all. I also had a neighbors dog caddy corner to me that was put outside in the fenced balcony area and was allowed to bark all day long. Management failed to do anything about that either. No assigned parking spots, but they gave you as many stickers as you needed for your vehicles. They had optional carports for you to rent but I didn't see it necessary. With many phone calls I still never got my security deposit back after leaving, and my apartment did not have a ton of crap that needed to be fixed.
