I moved into the Paddock Apartments about a year and half ago. I looked all over Lexington and it took me a couple of months to find a place where I wanted (and could afford) to live. I looked at all the newer, supposedly really nice places and they cost a fortune, but arent' very big. I never expected that I would want to live on the dreaded "North Side" but with a little convincing from my husband, I figured it couldn't hurt to look. We came over here and honestly, I did not expect this place to be as nice as it is. First impression was okay, it is old, but then again it has a nice charm and country feel. The whole place is completely outlined in big trees, so there isn't a lot of noise from New Circle, which is just a block up. Then we looked at an apartment and they are so big and really inexpensive. I mean, you never have to worry about a utility bill, which you can't beat. The apartments they showed us were empty (not models) which I loved because it was like what you see is what you get. The carpet was freshly cleaned (which they told me they have done in between every resident), the walls were all freshly painted and it was so clean. Plus the office staff worked with us to get us an apartment that was exactly what we wanted--where we wanted on the property, if we wanted upstairs or down, what kind of cabinets we wanted...it was great. Since we moved in, we have needed to call mainenance a few times, which is normal, but what suprised me is how fast the maintenance guys were on it and got everything taken care of. We love living here. The only bad thing I have heard about this place is a couple of cars being broken into, but you will get that anywhere. Long story short, the Paddock Apartments have been a great place to live, I have recommended it to a lot of my friends and family, who have now moved in too. Long story short, for all of these reasons, I consider the Paddock Apartments to be the best kept secret in Lexington.
