I Like It - Here's Why

I??ve been living at Park Hills Apartments for almost one year.
From day one, the leasing agent, Misty, has been courteous and kind.
Communication with the office manager is a different story.
She is helpful, but often looks as though she is on the verge of a breakdown.
The complex is convenient to Alumni Drive, New Circle Road, and Man??O War.
CONSTRUCTION
The complex is fairly old but due to recent renovations, they look very nice and almost all apartments have received mini makeovers.
Insulation is very poor and creates a 50% increase in utility expenses during the summer.
This can be blamed on the fact that 25% of my walls are glass based (windows & doors) and face the west.
Insulation in the attic is also pretty poor ?? but not to the point that you should consider looking elsewhere.
PARKING
At times, parking appears to be a real issue, but I am able to park in my same spot in front of my building about 90% of the time.
Ongoing construction in the area will further prevent this issue.
RESIDENTS
From what I can tell, management has done a great discriminating against those that should not be here.
I??ve never been annoyed by parties or excessive noise from fellow residents ?? every now and then, a visitor comes along who can be distracting.
SAFETY
Residents keep to themselves for the most part and I??ve never felt threatened while in the complex during late night hours.
The area is not lit as much as I would like, but more so than most other complexes.
AMENITIES
As of now, the complex only offers a swimming pool, laundry rooms and that is about it.
I??ve heard roomers that they are constructing a workout room and going to a bulk Insight account.
This would allow residents to purchase cable and Internet for only $30 a month.
MAINTENANCE
I??ve only called upon the maintenance crew a couple of times and they have always been out the same day or the following days ?? even with the petty issues.
They are nice and trusting- I??ve left them in my apt.
alone as I??ve went to work.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE
I would like to see a resurfacing of the parking areas.
A lot of areas have cracked pavement and the parking lines are barely visible.
Maintenance should also consider the idea of helping residents insulate their apartments.
Many residents put plastic over windows and doors during the winter time.
At times, I have been able to set on my couch and watch the draft from the air leaks blow my blinds ?? this is after I closed most openings.
I would also like to see a clubhouse with a pool table, and workout room ?? including tanning beds.

i would also like to see a resurfacing of the parking lot,the buildings look nice but the parking lot can make the whole thing look trashy. something needs to be said about the trash and cigarette butts that are constantly laying around. misti is a very nice person but something needs to be said about the resident account person, not friendly when discussing rent payment issues. also i have seen several stray animals in the area. but anyway i love the inside makeover of the apartments and might stay a long time.
