Went from bad to worse

Years at this apartment: 1999 - 2002
We moved to The Arbors(known as Wyngate at the time) in September 1999. I had a 2 bedroom on the middle floor. The apartment wasn't in great shape, even the leasing consultant remarked that the carpet looked bad when we moved in. It was our first apartment and it was cheap,We knew the buildings were old, so the carpet didn't bother us too much. But, then, no more than a month after we moved in the shower wall caved in and the bathroom ceiling started leaking, that bothered us! It was "patched" but never truly fixed. In the two years that we lived in that apartment, we dealt not only with constant maintenance issues, but noisy neighbors as well. I am not talking about "normal" apartment living noises. The hallway was always dirty especially when all the Hispanic people let the children run all over the hall. We were fed up! But, we got talked in to transfering to a one bedroom on the top floor.
The one bedroom wasn't as bad, the carpet was newer, shower wall was together, and the ceiling had no signs of leaks. The noise level was also a lot lower.
The cime level is somewhat high. There were several times that car windows were broken and tires slashed. Someone in the building behind us got robbed at gunpoint, that's when we decided to pay a little more money and get out!
We have noticed management and staff changes often, all with new promises of a better community, none of which have been fufilled.
The only way we would recommend these apartments is if you can't afford to spend a little bit more on another property. Get an apartment on the top floor, and get a big guard dog.
