Not hat bad of a choice IF...

I moved into Arbors at Brookhaven in a last minute decision after the girl who was supposed to share an apt with me moved back to Ohio. I had a 1 bedroom apt on the lower level, and was lucky enough to receive new carpet and new floors in the bathroom and kitchen.
My overall experience was okay. The rent was cheap (I moved in during a special rate) and the apt was spacious enough. The new carpet and floors were very nice as well. I never had any problems with the management staff, and they seemed to always address any concerns that I had. On the few occassions I needed maintenance work, the problem was taken care of as soon as possible. Once I returned from a weekend away to find a large pool of water on my bathroom floor--the water heater was leaking, but the problem was immediately fixed by replacing the entire water heater. The floor in the bathroom was replaced as well. During this situation, the staff was very accommodating to this matter.
There were small things that did were irritating. The kitchen sink periodically wouldn't turn all the way off, drainage was slow in the bathtub/shower, I could hear my neighbors TV or music, and since I lived on the lower floor, sometimes the ceiling sqeaked loudly when people moved upstairs.
I never had a problem with shower tile or bugs of any sort as mentioned in previous reviews. The small heater/air conditioner was fine for my 1 bedroom apt, but it probably wouldn't be very good in a 2 or 3 bedroom. The bathroom was very large which was nice. The cabinets (in both bathroom and kitchen) were older, but were not that bad.
There is a laundry facility that I visited during the first few months, but it was often crowded, and isn't in the best of shape--somewhat dirty. Since I was a college student, I usually took my laundry with me when I went home on several weekends.
There is a outdoor pool that is open during warm months, but I never visited it. I also never visited the fitness room either, mostly because I worked out on campus.
There was plenty of parking space in the lot in front of my building, but in some areas of the complex, I noticed it was kinda crowded.
The apartment was affordable enough that I could go to school full-time and work part-time and pay all the bills. Besides rent, I only had to pay electric--which was inexpensive, at the highest in the winter, it cost me about $30 dollars a month. Mostly, it was under $20.
The apt complex is right off Nicholasville Rd.--close to everything--Fayette Mall, Lexington Green, K-Mart, Best Buy, lots of other stores and restaurants.
Overall, I didn't have any major problems with the apartment, and if I needed assistance, the staff was helpful. I moved in with a friend who needed a roommate. If you are looking for something inexpensive and you don't care about minor things, then it's not that bad of a place.
