To all current and former residents. I used to be an employee, was lied to, mislead, recruited from out of town because I knew nothing of the area and have an excellent reputation in my field. These people jerked me around so bad. They made me look incompetant in from of vendors and residents, wanted me to rent to the worst crop of people. When I first started, I wanted so much to clean up the property and make it a nice place for lower income families and students. I was never told about the problems before I was hired, never knew about the mold, rotten window frames, sewage back-ups, leaking roofs, roaches, bedbugs, prostitution, drug dealings, I could go on and on! I was promised all the funds and staff to turn the place around and then it would all be yanked away from me. At one point, I had to move a family to another apaprtment because theirs was moldy and they didn't realize how bad it was for them!! I moved them the very day I inspected the unit!! I got in trouble but, I don't care. The owners wanted me to charge them for negligence...I said Hell no!!
My heart truly goes out the the staff and residents. What most of the residents don't understand is that the majority of the staff really do care about you but, their hands are tied and it is extremely frustrating to not be able to help people or do the right thing because your owners are making it impossible. All they care about is getting the rent, not the people or the buildings or anything else. If I could say these things to all of you, face to face, I would but, I am banned from the property because they know that I know too much.
Best of luck, please get your children and yourselves out of there for your health and safety.

In response to former employee. I also knew nothing of the area when I came here. This is in a great location! I can walk around here at night any time with out there being any problems and I feel safe. That is a major thing! This is NOT a Low income property. The problems faced here are the same as faced at any other property accross the country. If the Manager does not stay on top on the Maintenance Staff / Office Staff to know what is going on- SHAME ON THEM.. Then they are not doing their job and need to be replaced! The owners are always available to help with any concern that I have... The Owners NEVER have wanted anyone to rent to bad people, that is just crazy. It is so expensive to turn the suites why would you rent to just anyone. I have a Great Maintenance & Office Staff they keep me abreast of anything going on, also I take an interest in what happens on the property, the residents always see me out on the property and talk to me about any issue or concern that they have and I may not be able to address it right at that moment but I do get it taken care of. I have to say that a good Property Manger can make or break the property they are at. I know that the residents here are all happy about all of the improvements and changes that have been made over the last year.

In response to dpiunno....... Apparently, youdon't know enough about the property or property management because the problems at Preakness and it's sister property, Stonebridge are NOT the same as any other property across the country. The problems there, including horrible sewage backups and severe mold are not, I repeat NOT problems that plague "any other property across the country" I also know, because people that live and or worked at that property, have told me, without me asking them, because I do not want to know, that the same issues STILL exist and that Code Enforcement continues to be called out there. I am a professional and have been in property management for many years. If you or anyone else wants to know about Cardinal Valley and the Versailles Road area, please call the LFUCG Code Enforcement Office ot the Lexington Police Department. The entire area is NOT bad but, there are pockets of "very undesirable" places to live or walk around at night. I am not in the business of telling another person where to rent. That has to be your personal choice based on you needs and situation. I am only stating that you, and anyone else, should make an informed and educated decision.

The place is under new ownership and they are making huge improvements quickly. The original poster of this thread was with the old ownership and management.
