Use to be a nice place

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007

Raintree was a nice place when we first moved in about 3 years ago. After a month, the management changed. This is when it started to go downhill. There are a lot of times that the office closed before they are suppose to. For example, they are suppose to close at 6 pm but if you go over there at 4 they are already gone. This is horrible when you are trying to pay rent or get anything done.

During the maintance last year, we had our electric cut off twice because of the workers. Once was because they could not get the meter reconnected. This lasted 8 hours, lucky for my wife and I, the movie theater close by was showing a movie we wanted to see during the heat of the day. The second time, one of the workers drilled into our main electric line for our apartment. It took them over a day to get this resolved, and they had to put us into another apartment for the night because of it.

As many have stated, they seem to have plumbing issues. Being on the ground level, we had water leak into our apartment twice. The first time, the maintance man said it was because the woman above us had her washer hooked up incorrect. The second time it was because the tile was comming off the bathroom floor so water leaked into our apartment they stated. This may have happened more often if they did not move shortly after this.

Also, in the winter we had an ice rank right in front of our apartment. They even put up cation tape, which blocked our patio. As soon as it warmed up a little, they dug up what little grass we had in front of our house, so for the next few months we had a mudwalk instead of a sidewalk to our patio.

Do not plan on using the clubhouse after work, as I stated before the office staff leaves early so you would not be able to get in after they leave. They lock both the club house and office up at the same time.

After living there for two years they raised the rent by about 20 dollars, which is not a big deal, but the issues that we had to deal with in tat year did not justify the increase. The reason they increase the rent is for the horrible job they did remodeling the club house, and fitness center, which was remodeled shortly after we moved in in 2004, so the manager could have her own office that over looked the indoor pool.

Until they recently repainted and resealed the parking lots, parking was a nightmare. Some cars would part and take up two spaces. Even though we had to sign an agreement that we would not do this or we would get towed, the same people parked horrible, were never towed.

Now my last complaint is about the current management. Our lease ended on April 30th. On the 19th we looked at another apartment, and they checked your rent history, which is normal, but Raintree would not tell them our history until we gave them a 30 day notice. I went to talk to management about this on the 20th, and asked them why they did that. They stated because we did not give the notice. They made us fill out a 30 day notice, and charged us for 20 days in May. I told the management that the lease should be our 30 day notice, since they have known for a year that we would be out of the apartment at the time. The manager was really rude about how he handled the issue, even going as far as acting as if I could not read what was in the lease. Which stated that if we did not turn our keys in by the end of the lease period we would be charged a pro rate each month. He stated that it is not what the lease stated, it stated that they will renew the lease at a pro rate, without out your permission, and would charge you. He even had enought guts when I left to say, if you were nicer about the issue I would have waviered the pro rate for May.

At first the apartments look perfect at first but I would not suggest living here. If things go the same way when we lived there, the complex will be sold again within six months, we had 3 different owners in 3 years. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
