Moved in to a "cleaned" apartment, only to find the last tenant still there cleaning himself. Smelled of fermenting beer in the carpet, and all the landlord had to say was, "Sorry, but we're not required to clean." Water leaked in from the ceilings in the bathroom when the neighbor upstairs showered. Was missing smoke detectors, then they tried to bill ME for them! Moved out eventually, but I'm still disputing the "damages," of which there were none (I don't drink or party), and he's repeatedly promised that "the check is in the mail, I'm not going to discuss the issue further." The unit didn't come with any screens for the windows, and I had to wait 3 months to get half of them. The other half never appeared, and neither did my screen door even after asking for several months. Tried to get ahold of his manager, the actual property owner, to which he replied with something along the lines of, "This is as high as it goes." I have spoken to the owner several times however, who is really helpful when he can be, but usually defers to the manager (as he should, that's his job). Definitely don't move in. In retrospect, the dorms were even nicer. They showed me a nice clean place when I looked at moving in, but it definitely wasn't in the same state when I actually got the unit they had available. The washers and driers also don't function 100% of the time, because they forget to empty out the change collector, so you can't put in quarters (they just get stuck and you lose them, another "oops, sorry, we're fixing that"). They also oversell the parking lot, literally giving away more parking stickers than there are spaces.
