I lived at The Greenhouse for a couple of years between 97-99. I loved it. My apartment was large and I had a nice courtyard, w/d, and fireplace, and covered parking. Although it is an older complex, it was well maintained, and floorplan was unique. The landscaping and green space is the best in Lexington.
When I first walked into the leasing office ( I looked young back then). Thelma told me that "we don't lease to college students". After I explained that I had graduated, she was happy to help me.
Living there was quiet and peaceful,(most likely because of the strict screening of each applicant),and although she may seem a little bit abrasive at times, Thelma handled any issues that I had with a no-nonsense,professional attitude.
Rules were seldom, if ever broken, because the resident's understood that she would not put up with it. She made sure that everyone could enjoy the peace and quiet of their apartment and surroundings.
When my hot water heater leaked on Christmas Eve, she even came up to my apartment to make sure it had been fixed, and that the carpet was shampooed for me.
I do gather that she is not a fan of college students or kids. But because I wasn't a parent at the time, that suited me fine. I didn't want to have to pay $550 to listen to all of that mess anyway.
Now that I am a parent, I doubt if she would have me. Ha Ha
