The pros and cons

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
After living here for a little over a year, I've found the following:
1)The apartments are very spacious, with relatively large bedrooms and good-sized windows. The bathrooms are a little too small and the kitchen needs the most attention. The cabinets are definitely old and have some wear and tear to them. The appliances are fairly new and seem to work fine.
2) The electric bill gets ridiculously high because of vaulted ceilings and all of the sliding doors. There's not a lot of insulation so the winter months will run you shy of $200, which is with only moderate heat.
3) There's always plenty of parking available, but not a lot of security at night. Though there are a lot of lights, many of them are often out and there's really nothing protecting your car from vandalism. Mine was broken into 3 months after moving in.
4) The grounds are pretty and the pool is really nice. However, there really is no clubhouse or workout facility.
5) Maintenance does take a while to get processed. In the few instances I've had issues, it's taken at least a week or so to get to them.
6) Rent does go up when you resign, and now it seems it goes up every 6 months. Though not terrible, it is a little over-priced. Especially charging $30 for water.
Like I said before, this is not the worst place to live. There's definitely some quirks - and it's good to be aware up front that it's not picture perfect. In honesty, you could find something a bit better for the same price.
