I found this ebsite last week, and I have been debating on if I should speak out or not but I think that it is time-everyone else seems to be! I lived at Shillito back in 1996 after college, and moved back for 6 months last month. I had a great experience the first time around with my roomate-we never had any problems with management, or when things went wrong around the apartment it was fixed in a flash. When i moved back last month-nothing was ready at all. My paperwork took the big girl in the office forever to get ready-it cant be that hard can it''''' Then, the apartment itself was not ready at all- and it took the mant. workers almost a fullday to complete it. MY rent is rediculous this time around, and i cant wait to get the heck out of here-im even convsidering breaking my lease just to be rid of the place. Does anyone know of a way to get out of my lease without paying alot of money' Please help me!

Good luck getting out of the lease...I lived there last year for 12 months and HATED it. They charged me a fee that was hundreds of dollars when they lost my rent check but didn't tell me that until 6 months after the fact. So basically, they will charge you for everything because all they care about is getting your money. They can't even keep up with it though so ALWAYS get a receipt. Although, they are never in the office to give you one! I don't think there is a way to get out of a lease there cheaply to be quite honest with you. I will NEVER EVER recommend that place to anyone...not even my worst enemy! IT is HORRIBLE. Good luck!

This place is a JOKE. Bob, the manager there is dirty as they come. He will screw you out of your money in a heartbeat, and argue with you till you're blue in the face that he's right and you're wrong. The guy that lives across the lot from me is moving out because they upped his rent, and when he contested it, they shredded his lease. That is a blatant disregard for the law. I hope someone reads this from the State and Investigates him, he loses everyones checks and paperwork. He hires drunks and druggies to work for him, and he is just a big fat blog that sits out front and smokes non-stop. It is a CASH COW!! The volleyball court is full of cat poop, you can't walk ANYWHERE for more than 5 feet off the sidewalk without stepping in dog poop. The lights are out ALL OVER THE PLACE, a train goes by every twenty minutes and shakes the place to the core. There is NO PARKING, the pool is dirty, and everyone that is there is DRUNK ALL THE TIME. I can't wait until December when my lease is up, I'm leaving this place for the nasty thugs that live there now. Yeah, it's ghetto as hell.

Good luck they have you now. Shillito Park Apartments sucks. Go ahead try to find somebody in the office to pay rent to or get a receipt. I once also was a victim of a lost check and they claimed they never received it then tried to charge me all these fees. Well, guess what, my check was found but it was posted to somebody else's apt. Go figure. You are absolutely right about the office hiring druggies. There were many of them here one was just recently fired for "issues". How convenient to have druggies working here and then worse then that is having them have their friends move in. Seems to me that they have easy access to their drugs without the police and anybody else knowing because you never had to see cars going all the time because they were within walking distance. Parking, there is none, ever, especially after 5:00 pm. Yes, we have Bluegrass Towing stickers but they do no good because there is nobody to enforce the parking. I have tried to call Bluegrass many times, and they told me that they do not work for Shillito Park Apts. and that we should call the courtesy officer. Well, some good that does, we dont have a courtesy officer, we was fired for drinking on the job. Go ahead and look it up on WTVQ website, his name is Josh Cromer, oh, by the way, isnt he the one who arrested JMM for DUI. Hilarious. Volleyball court, what are you talking about. That is a cat litter box not a place for children or anybody else to play for that matter. I am currently investigating with both the police about the drugs on the property and Tenant Services about how to go about breaking my lease. Shillito Park Apartments will be very sorry when I get through with them because I have also hired a local Real Estate attorney who is helping with some of the investigations and the breaking of my lease. I currently live in a one bedroom over looking the park which is very nice, but you cannot ever get maintenance to respond and do the work. So what the He.. am I paying for. This place is not luxury like the sign states at the front of the property. The only thing luxury is the drug dealers living here.

Yup they wont let u out. u gotta pay. you signed a 8 page lease that intitles them to everything and them to nothing. i had 8 adminments signed and dated by Bob before i would sign it. he agreed to all at least. the renters insurance amount was outragous to meet.... crap all over the place. i live overlooking the park great view, but no sidewalk in parts, watch ur step. i asked for a rent receipt once, and they looked at me as if i was a wackjob. when i moved out after 3 yrs, they billed me for late fees on a handfull of days that i moved in early. a verbal agreement was made on that subject (mistake) those days at the end of the month i moved in were suppose to be waived of rent... to help me move out of my old and into the new apt. no help, they billed me $80 dollars for 3 days. this was never told to me until 3 yrs later after i vacated and did not recieve my full deposit back, and had stated i owed them rent... i had never missed a payment though and never late. i had to pay the rent for the month i moved out early because i didnt not give them 6 months notice before leaving... i had no idea i would be leaving after grad or not, so for all i know i wuold be staying or leaving... thats never decided that early for a college kid. for the days i had vacated the property i had to pay for the utility bill (had to keep the workers cool, the electric bill was high)
