Rotten management, nice residents

My husband and I lived at Spring House for about a year, and that was long enough for us. The major problem is the management; they've changed managers twice in less than 18 months. Maintenance requests don't get taken care of quickly; we waited six months for a drywall problem to be fixed. Our calls usually don't get returned, and the communication between the office staff is pathetic. The police seem to show up three or four times a month, either for domestic disputes, drugs, or burglaries. Beware of renting a first-floor apartment; there is a much higher chance of a break-in.
On the plus side, the residents are great. We made several friends who we still keep in touch with. We never had any complaints about our neighbors. It's a very pet-friendly community and lots of people have dogs/cats.
It's definitely not the worst place in Lexington, but I don't think it's worth the rent you pay. We probably would have stayed another year, but we decided to buy a townhouse instead.
