would look elsewhere

I moved in because i needed a place asap and i am sorry i picked here. i pay 615 a month for a one br office and not a month later i saw it advertised cheaper online and they wouldnt change the rate. from there, slowly i found things i hadnt noticed at the first walk through.
before i say the negatives, there are a few positives.the location is nice, it is located close to tates creek shopping center and there are parks close by too. the staff is nice, as long as you dont have a complaint, and the maintenance staff is sooooo nice and always prompt. my neighbors are very nice.
i would look at the carpet closely and make sure it isnt coming up. it wasnt bad at first but by the end is is very evident and unsightly. the floors are uneven. the siding in the bathroom is coming off the walls. another bad thing is the sliding glass door. i live on the first floor and i am a single girl living alone and have had sooo many problems with the lock. it never clasps so i have to make sure the bar is always down. they have fixed it 3 times, but i finally just gave up calling them. the noise is awful. at midnight every night i can hear what sounds like drawers slamming in the apt above me. you hear everything in the halls and outside as well. parking is a pain. they DO tow and sometimes at random times like 7pm. but i work late and get home about 1-2 am some nights and have to park in visitor to be remotely close to my apt--taking away from the visitor places. a downer on the rent is, they do not have the usual 5 day grace period at the beg of the month. if rent, plus utilities, is not turned in by close on the first they charge a ridiculous fee.
just be cautious here!
