Steeplechase looked like a great prospective home when my fiance and I signed the lease and moved our stuff in and the next we called to speak with our Leasing Consultant and we were told she no longer worked there which was fine I guess but a little unnerving being that we had only been there a day. Within three months the policy on when the rent was due changed three times. The well lit parking lot light went out almost immediately after we moved in and still wasn't fixed when we moved out a year later. Not to mention the pool was always overcrowded and the hot tub was down the entire time we lived there. In the year that we lived there they only came to change the air filter once. Our electric bill was outrageous and no matter what we did our bedroom stayed hot. We even had a bird stuck in our wall for a week that died and stunk up the place they wouldn't do anything about it. I could tell you I never heard any of my neighbors and they put in in new windows right before we moved out but in my opinion it was too little too late.

It's a shame that it takes you a year after you move out to rate the apartment complex. Are you sure that it's Steeplechase or the one you are living in now? I have lived here for a while now and can not say enough good things about the property, the people who work here and my neighbors. If there is anything that needs repairing it gets fixed within a few days. It only takes a phone call to report the problem for it to get fixed. Out of all of the places I have lived, rent has always been due on the first of the month, so for you to have so many changes to the date your rent was due is very unusual. As for the lights in the parking lot, did you ever call and report that it was out? The safety of the residents and guests are a high priority here (there are courtesy officers that live on property). The pool being over crowded, the only time I have seen the pool even being remotely over crowded was at the annual pool party where all us residents got together (which was so fun) and even then it wasn't over crowded. Again, did you ever report that the air filter needed changing? I currently live in a two bedroom apartment and my electric bill is only $63 a month so for you to complain about a high electric bill, I can't see it. Did you have your ceiling fan going in your bedroom, they really make a difference in the temp of the room. As for the bird getting stuck in you wall - I am sure that if you would have called, someone would have came and removed it. By the sound of your comments you should have talked with a leasing agent here and discussed your concerns. I know that the leasing agents that work here now would have addressed each of your concerns and made sure that each was handled to yours and the property's satisfaction. This is such a great place to live! I have been told that the property changed ownership sometime after you left, and speaking first hand, I would not want to live in any other apartment community then here.

I live here now and let me tell you that I agree with jules1967. I've lived here for five years and I've never had those kinds of issues. Rent has always been due on the first and they even give you a grace period if you are a day or two late. You describe the place like its a dump are you sure you aren't just disgruntle and own them money?

I have lived here for 4 years and the rent has always been due at the same time. However, I have had a bird get stuck in the vent and die over our bedroom ceiling. It was awful and it did take them a long time to get it out. I have seen the pool crowded many times too by residents that don't even live here. I have seen them get kicked out so many times it's not even funny, even by maintence after hours. The office team is great and always nice to talk too.
