I am just now writing this report, as I have just come across these "apartment review" type websites, and I feel that this story definately needs to be read by anyone who is thinking about moving into an apartment at Stoney Brooke.
Camel-back crickets (those half spider, half cricket looking creatures), rolly pollies, and the occasional huge spider were things that I was not happy about at Stoney Brooke, but it was'nt the WORST renting experience of my life; that is until the day before my scheduled move out date. I got a call from my roommate telling me that he had come home to our door wide open, and our things strewn about all over the floor. He said somethings were missing, and that it looked like the walls had been painted, and there was overspray all over our belongings. This was obviously the maintenance staff and their painter's work. So I had to leave my job and rush down the the front office at Stoney Brooke to ask them what in the world was going on. I told them what we had come home to, and that I wanted some answers as our move out date was not until the next day. They looked over their records and said that clearly we were right about the move out date, and that the maintenance had wrongly entered our apartment, and let the painting company ELECTROSTATIC PAINTING take ANYTHING THEY WANTED from our apartment. I know this sounds too bad to be true, but this is honest to God a true story; and it gets worse. So I told them I needed to get my things back immediately, and that they needed to call ELECTROSTATIC PAINTING and get me my things back. They made one call to the owner, who was a rude man named Felix, and he said that his men had loaded up a bunch of our stuff in their truck, and would return it right after they got finished with the job they were on; which was supposed to be an hour or so. then they gave me his phone number, and told ME to make sure that I got my stuff back. Long story short, I had to get very nasty with the owner of ELECTROSTATIC PAINTING because 4 hours had passed, and still nobody had shown up. We eventually got MOST of our stuff back when a guy finally pulled up in an electrostatic truck FILLED with our belongings; however there were some things still missing. I tallied up the things that I knew for sure were still missing, and gave the price to the staff, which they did absolutely nothing about until I filed a police report and threatened to take them to court.
Bottom line is: The staff, both office and maintenance are incompetent, and caused me losses and damage of my property. Not only that, but they wanted ME to do the legwork to get my things back, and I had to get the police involved to collect my compensation (the police officer in charge of my case was quite angry with the office).
You take a gamble living here. Things may work out just fine, but with the incompetence and disorganized nature of the staff, this very same thing could happen to you.
Do not live here.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience at Stoney Brooke. I do think it is unfair that you are just writing a response to this incident a year later after it had occured. Management has changed since then and Stoney Brooke is a wonderul property to call home.
