I have lived here almost a year and am waiting for my lease to expire so I can move. Granted, I was used to living in a home, but the things that have happened here cannot be typical of apartment living. I have been displaced due to a walkway collapse (that occured in October and is still not complete with plywood as flooring and no lighting until last week), have struggled with other minor maintenence problems, and have had extreme problems with the parking. One simple thing to consider here - you HAVE to walk around the building from where you park to get in - tough carrying groceries! I do think that the local staff has been nice and polite, even empathetic, but the corporate staff doesn't seem to work very fast. Now, I think most of my complaints are results of the dangerous walkway collapse, but my biggest problem is now the utilities. When I moved in they were estimated for me at $40 a month. They were around that for first few months, but then have steadily increased - to a current $176. Crazy! I just can't afford these over $150 electric bills I've gotten the last 3 months, and I anticipate at least one more. Add to that the restrictive cable and internet service (No KU, Insight, or cable option here - it's all out of state or coop companies that do not respond to outages). Good things - the tanning and clubhouse are nice and the fitness room is outstanding. The pool is ok. Tennis courts are nice to have, but some run dogs on them while you play! That's not the apartment though; it's people! One piece of advice I can give...research, research, research! In looking now myself, I am looking at everything and considering all my options before I just at what looks good on the first visit.
