Just like other reviewers nothing was done upon my move-in. Apartment was empty for about a month so you would think they would have it together. The sides of the stove were 90% full of grease, grease around the knobs, grease on wallpaper above and in back of stove and stove lamp. The kitchen appliances are OK but my refrigerator freezer was scratched to the metal. Wall in bedroom was touched up and not painted over. Blinds were dirty. Windows have film on them. I was told without asking that they were going to be changing all the apartments windows in the spring but that never happened.
They don't return phone calls when you ask to be called back about something. I called them probably 7 times when I lived there and 5 of them were for things that should have been fixed before I moved in. They tell you they will come that day and when they don't they don't let you know. Your time means nothing to them. The first month they come the first day but then it is longer and longer. Usually 2 to 3 days.
If your neighbor smokes it will blow into your apartment from vents. Also smoke from under kitchen sink, your laundry room will smell of smoke and your clothes will smell of smoke when they come out of dryer unless you tape every hole in laundry room. I asked them if anything could be done. They said yes and sprayed deodorizer behind vents and toxic deodorizer blew out for about 5 hours and then cigarette smoke came back. Then I asked if they had room heaters because I wasn't going to use heat anymore and they told me there are filters that take out cigarette smoke and I could go buy them at Loew's or Walmart. They wouldn't even provide filter. When AC/Heat is turned off you can still smell smoke a little if you don't cover vents. When they changed filters in all apartments is when cigarette smell had started since last person had filter to take out cigarette smell and put in small filteres in small vents. They should have left old filter. Some of vents had heavy mold. The vents are painted shut so you can't clean them.
Apartments are cold. Cold comes from windows and fireplace. Neighbors told me covering fireplace with plastic wrap helps keep cold out and heat in summer. I wish they had told me this since my electric bill in the winter was almost $90.00 a month and it was still freezing.
The other utility Bill you get from The Mansions is for water, sewer, trash and pest control comes to $30 - $40 a month for 1 person in the smallest one bedroom. Water is divided by apartments by what size apartment and how many people live there. Pest control is charged every month but they came only once.
Apartments have a big spider problem.
A bird got into chimney and was on top of fireplace and was scratching and women in office told me maintenance just tells tenants when that happens to just let the animal die. Nothing can be done (closing the top of the fireplace would help I think). I said I don't know how to open fireplace. She said there was no way to open fireplace. I asked her if she could ask maintenance if there was anything at all that could be done and call me back. No call back. You would think they could have at least come for a minute. At work people told me that fireplace does open and that I should call Animal Control because it could smell and it could be a health hazard or fire hazard. I came home about 5:15 the next day but maintenance was gone for the day (they usually leave at 4:30). The rental agent in office showed me how to open fireplace in office. My opened different and it was hard to open so I asked him if he could open it for me. He came and opened it. He asked if I wanted maintenance to come the next day and make it easy to open and If I wanted to leave chute open. I said No and asked if he could close it so if something is in there it would'nt smell (it seemed after a few days that bird came in and out of chimney). They scratch on top of fireplace. I opened and closed the chute that night and closed gate in front of fireplace. The next day I came home and gate was open about 2 inches which had never happened before so I checked chute and it was open about 6 inches? I closed it. Before I moved I checked chute and it was 100% open?
Before the chimney incident I asked women in office how much rent would be to resign 6 month lease. She said she didn't know but after you live there 6 month they usually waive $20 more a month for 6 month lease. She told me to talk to rental agent to find out about this and rent. I went in a few days later and asked rental agent about waiving the $20 and he said he never heard of this and would ask manager and let me know. No return phone call.
Some of the work orders that they give to tenants were written in nasty language. Not a big deal but shows the professionalism level.
Washing machines are rough on clothes. The gentle cyle is not gentle. The dryer is not as bad but gentle cycle is not that gentle either. It ruined some of my clothes. Also washing machine doesn't rinse well so you have to rinse 2 or 3 times. Other tenants told me this also.
Some of the apartments were built wrong. My closet wasn't built wide enough so clothes hit wall. Other tenants toilet plumbing was built wrong and caused them alot of problems.
I would suggest looking at Briddle Creek Apartments next door. They are a few years old (The Mansions are about 20 years old). and apartments of the same size as this place are less expensive, set up better and have new appliances. Their just so much nicer.
Their move out form says if you don't get apartment checked before you move you lose your deposit so I set it up. I had a few things in apartment and manager wouldn't do check. She said you don't have to get apartment checked before you move. I told her about what the move out form said. The rental agent came the next day and looked at the apartment for about 5 seconds.
Just the facts.

This is ridiculous. Obviously a Bridle Creek employee or usual nasty tenant who didn't read their lease or maintenance agreement. My bet is everywhere this person rents they end up hating it. It's posted anonymously which generally means it's a staff person from another apartment, so be careful when believing any anonymous posts. ALSO if Jeff is still there, the maintenance is top-notch and no one leaves at 4:30. He is the best, often keeping late hours to turn apartments and keep up lots of small things around the grounds. Just the facts.....

I like how the anonymous user above complains about users posting anonymously... As for the original review. I tend to agree. I had a bad experience. The place is advertised as "Luxury Housing" but it is actually poorly manufactured and the staff makes you feel like a third class citizen. :/
