Avoid this place like the plague.

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
Lived at this place for two years.
I lived in a cave pretty much. It was a windowless room on the first floor. If you have an apartment in the inside hallway, you are getting no sunlight what so ever. After a few months I got used to feeling like a hermit but I still appreciate windows so much more now.
First year was great, had no problems. Management even set up events for neighbors to meet each other and have a good time. The next year, was the downfall.
$800 rent for a windowless room, cable used to be included but not anymore. Sound travels when you have concrete floors, thin walls, and a 18ft ceiling. I also got yelled at by management when my girlfriend stopped in town with her 5 month old puppy for 3 days. What am I supposed to do' Put a young puppy in a kennel' Yeah right.
With a month left on my lease, I got a noise violation from the cop/security guard Daniel Sparks. This guy is a complete joke. Talk about a cop who gets his jollies off having authority.
Anyways, I got the noise violation for watching TV at 3am. I never opened the door because he was banging on my door like he was going to break it down. I thought it was either some drunk or somebody trying to break in. The doors don't even have peep holes. So I decided to act like nothing happened and never opened the door. The next day this guy sees me at the office and totally fires questions point blank at me. 1. I didn't even know they had a security guard, none the less a Lexington cop as a security guard. 2. This guy claims he could hear my alarm clock blaring, which never happened. It was my freakin' tv. 3. He said he would have never showed up at my apartment but that a neighbor called him to complain about it. 4. Claimed he would have just given me a warning if I would have opened the door.
Anyways he writes me a ticket for a noise violation and marks on the ticket that I have to appear at court. I hire a lawyer because it's complete B.S. and the prosecutor tells my lawyer she would drop the charges if Sparks would agree to it. He refuses, I have to go to court. End up paying the ticket plus court fees. Then the judge asked why I just didn't pay the fine instead of taking it to court because for an ordinance violation, it's not mandatory to appear in court. So this joke of an authority figure screwed me again.
My parents were the co-signers of the lease, so they end up getting a hold of the owner of the building who ends up siding with the cop.
I'm sorry, but to have a cop working as an employee for the building you are living in while being a college student is like having a cop as your RA.
I talked to all of my neighbors because I was cordial to the ones who lived around me, and none of them could believe that all of this could happen. All of them even told me they never called security on me.
Also while I was moving out, another resident was moving out within a month of moving in because the same thing happened to him. Except they had their door open with the stereo on while they were moving in. The same cop gave them a noise violation. Not even a warning, like he claimed he would give me. This guy is a chump. I have nothing against cops. I have two uncles that were cops. But I do have a problem when some guy gets a power trip and abuses his authority.
