I do not recommend these apartments. The air conditioning units are extremely loud and from a 2nd floor apartment I have to sleep with wax ear plugs so I am not awaken by the fans cutting on and off. I feel sorry for anyone living on the first floor with units directly in front of the bedroom window. The lighting is also very annoying, or misplaced. I had to cover my blinds with unattractive thick and dark fabric curtains due to the amount of orange light that emits from the outdoor lights mounted on outside of buildings. The lighting in parking lot in dim and I think it was poor design to have bright lights shining in blinds versus dim lights in parking area. I agree with the post about the dumpster in the front of the complex. It is inconvienent to have to walk with large garbage bags to the compactor. I have numerous spills from small leaks in my trash bags from transporting in my car.
The grass is very unappealing and I wonder why ICON properties does not have someone come out and fertilize. It seems they tried to step their game up when the new Lexus of Louisville moved in across the street. There was new carpet like, thick, plush grass planted near the front entrance. I can look out my window and see bare, brown patches in the grass. That does not reflect my $900 rent payment! This new Lexus dealership is creating more traffic right outside the complex. I have also seen people test driving RX330s and circling around our mailbox area. Management needs to address this.
The "pond" area is unappealing. Just recently, they have added some white rocks around the edge but I question why the grass was not replaced in this area because they have at least 40 apartments that face this view and renters are charged an extra $100 to look at a "pond" with bare, landslide looking grass. I also question why the sprinkler in the pool shoots up higher than the pond'!' No wildlife in the pond either so don't expect any pretty swans.
Fitness Center is bare and inconviently located. Sound from my upstairs neighbor is not that bad. I have a complaint about cabinet depth. Seems like ICON was so worried about the red accent wall in the kitchen that they installed cheaper cabinets. I have dinner plates I have to store in the pantry b/c they do not fit.
Things I like- Nice neighbors...almost everyone has a dog. Lots of sidewalks if you want to take a stroll. Nice pool area. Flowers and front entrance nice. Friendly office staff. I disagree with the poster that said Deborah was not nice. She is very friendly and willing to help.
Last thing....there are some manufacturing plants on Electron drive. At certain times of night I hear what sounds like pressing machines. Something very minor but I wanted to point out. Oh yeah, the house on the back of the apartment throws a HUGE 4th of July bash. Bon Fire, Kegs, Volleyball, Fireworks....the works. They invited me over which was nice.

I have to agree with the noise level at this community. I lived here and I couldn't hear the outside noise but I could hear the noise from my neighbors upstairs. You might want to make sure your windows are shut. I lived on a 1st floor apartment and I had no problem with the air conditioner units.
And what is all this about the grass being dead? Haven't you noticed...ITS DEAD EVERYWHERE!!! We are in the middle of a dry spell...and all you are worried about is the brown grass? Typical East ender...worried about the darn grass and not about how the dry weather is going to affect the food crops.
I enjoyed my stay at the apartment community before I purchased my home. I have my complaints, but they aren't bogus like dead grass!

How would someone not know if they're windows are shut? I'm sorry but that was not an issue for me. My issue with the grass was based on observations all summer long, sorry if my post was not quick enough to reflect summer months. As noted in other reviews, the apartment uses sprinklers but sprinklers/rain will not solve bare spots that need to be reseeded or trees like the few that were removed b/c they failed to produce folliage. It has nothing to do with being an "East Ender" b/c I relocated from upstate NY 2 yrs ago. What may be bogus to you is simply an observation on my part. Even with the weather breaking and record rain falls, the bare spots are still bare b/c mgm't has not sent out any landscapers to add dirt, plant seeds or simply add a nice layer of mulch I like I see in other communities, shopping centers, and THE LEXUS DEALER ACROSS THE STREET!!! LOL!

Actually, we lived on the pond and there was ALWAYS wildlife to watch. We loved it...ducks, geese, kingfishers, swifts, rabbits, several species of turtles. We kept a set of binoculars and a bird book close at hand because there was always something new!
