Pros VS Cons

From: -Anonymous-
Date posted: 7/17/2006
Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006

PROS:
*Great location...in the heart of St Matthews, located pretty much near everything you need.
*There are two great parks in walking distance.
*Walking distance to the mall so no need to worry about parking there....
*Large Floor Plans
*Huge arcadia doors for a lot of natural light
*Great Community for Drug Dealers

CONS:
*Drug Dealers
*Unprofessional Leasing agents-forget who you are once the lease is signed
*Maintence staff is very sloppy for the most part.
*Lack of communication between the leasing office and maintence staff
*Extremely dirty community
*Direspectful residents that don't respect other's privacy or property
*Maintence fixes water damages by spray painting over it rather than taking time to actually fix the problem.
*Nice kitchen sinks that throw food at you from the garbage disposal with no warning
*Most units if not all BOTTOM UNITS have plumbing issues (maintence fixes the problem by jack hammering up the floors and putting holes in the living room walls and not return for a week or more, leaving you without the use of your kitchen)
*NO 24 hour maintence
*Takes weeks to get maintence to fix the smallest thing and that is only if you call everyday and keep complaining
*Leasing office holds grudges to those who complains about any problems they have
*Black mold in certain areas of the property
*ONE Trash compactor for the whole community (and it is a large community)
*Trash compactor hardly ever works and if you stack your strash outside of it they try to fine you $50 for each bag
*Leaking windows and arcadia doors
*Leaning balconies (most units)
*Unpatched holes on the outside of the buildings (we call them bird houses!)
*Patched holes have plywood over brick (very tacky)
*Cable wires hanging from roof to ground in most areas (but you can only have cable in the living room unless you want to splice it and have cable all over your house)
*Over Priced for the quality of apartment
*very small kitchens
*no counter space
*ELECTRICAL ISSUES-brownouts Everyday
*Cable reception issues through whole buildings (due to electrical issues)
*Absolutely disgusting laundry facilities (No trash cans, they leave the doors open for rain to come in and you swim while doing laundry)
*Bottom Units often flood
*Poor parking conditions due to the amount of broke down cars and Jet Ski's
*Different rentals rates for each apartment (not floorplans)
*SNAPPY AMMENITIES: Pool is open different times everyday with no warning. The 24 hour "BUSINESS CENTER" is only open when leasing agents are on site, plus the computers never work. Tennis courts and basketball court look nothing like the apartment guide.
*They abandon unattended units, using them for storage and this also means leaving doors and windows open all year allowing rain, snow, rodents, etc to occupy the unit....UNTIL YOU LEASE IT!!!!

The following are links to a few pictures that were taken of a plumbing issue on the bottom unit of a building that I lived in. It was a once a week occurance that went on for almost a year. Ultimately had to switch apartments to another building.
