From day one there were problems.
When my boyfriend and I went to view the apartment, they showed us a beautiful 1 bedroom model, appliances were new, walls had no cracks, everything looked great.
They told us a fairly low price for what we saw there.
So we agreed a few days later.
After we signed the contract, they told us a higher price for the apartment.
We told them (management) that it was not the price they originally told us.
So they said they had a different model available.
That was even higher than the original price they said.
My lease was up at the old apartment, and we had no where to go, so we had to agree.
They said they wouldn't be able to show us that one until the day before we moved in.
When we went back to view it, there were cracks in the wall, water spots on the ceiling, the appliances were outdated, and it was SO small, much much smaller than the model they showed us.
So we had no choice, because we signed the lease.
They did a "Bait and Switch" on us.
So when we did the final walkthrough, I made note of everything that was wrong, and they assured us that it would all be fixed.
Wrong.
Till the day we moved out, everything wasn't fixed, and we constantly complained about it.
We even sent a formal letter to Aimco (their company) and still nothing was done about it.
It would take days, even weeks for something to get done by maintanence, and the office staff was very rude and disrespectful.
We watched my sister's dog for a couple weeks while they were on vacation, and when we moved out, they said there were pet damages to the apartment.
That dog didn't so much as pee once inside the apartment.
So at the end of our lease, they charged us over a thousand dollars in damages (the damages that were pre-existing when we moved in).
So not only were we screwed out of our deposit and rent, but they even sent us to collections for the thousand dollars.
If someone offered me a million dollars to live there again, I'd tell them they were crazy.

They charged us pet damages on a cat with no claws. We never even received a bill. Just a collection notice 30 days from the day we moved out. When I asked the collection guy abut it he said they had to send us a bill and I told him nope I received your collection notice exactly 30 days after moving out. So how does that give them time to even send us a notice? Good question.
