Being a resident for 1 year I find that it is an average complex. It is not the worst nor is it the best. First some good features. the complex is centrally located in an area where everything is available. The grounds are kept clean each day. The appearance of the complex is nice. The spacing for the cost is good. Now the bad. There are maintenance issues that need to be done. Leakage within my townhouse has caused paint to peel and water damage to the floor. But once reported it is quickly corrected. In the 2-story townhomes, heat in the summer and cold in the winter is a problem. It is not insulated very well and therefore causes a larger cost in electricity and gas.

It was the early '70's I was a toddler, utilities were dirt cheap and often included in the rent. Plainview was a new luxury apartment complex in the relatively new Hurstbourne area. In "the day" it was an enviable place to live.
Fast forward over 35 years, I am nearly 40. Hurstbourne is no longer a "new" area Plainview apartments have had several changes in management, become rather dated by today's standards. The poor plumbing has surfaced over the years. The lack of insulation is a detriment in these days of sky high energy costs, and rather than spending a fortune to install individual meters they would rather charge for utilities in the most unfair manner, of course there are other demons plaguing a complex that old, lead paint for one. While some complexes have aged well, Plainview, built in a booming area in the early 70's likely by the lowest bidder hasn't. The original tenants have long since gone to greener pastures and the complex is still there with Aimco managing them, they are what is known as a vulture management company, as they buy properties that are well past their prime and try to turn a profit, often by keeping the property appealing looking while neglecting the many problems that plague a complex this old that was originally built for a developer to make a fast buck over a few years then move on.
There are many complexes like this throughout the country and they are a blight to the suburban landscape. All who live there I hope all of you find better accommodation's and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I agree with you toyotaas. Upon living in the complex for 2 years I find that it is a huge "lesson learned" experience. This is not a good property and the managment is geared towards profit seeking.

Imagine A BUSINESS trying to make a profit! That is such a new concept in America! Let's see you jackasses buy or own a business and not plan on making a profit! See how long you stay in business

Communities are always bought and sold, thats why they are in the business. Sorry that so many people feel the way they do,but in reality people apartment living is just a temporary fix. If you have such a problem with apartment living why do you move there? If you dont like the community look elsewhere! No one twisted your arm and made you sign a lease. What is really funny is that you found this page to bash the community why didnt you check this page before you moved in? Seriously, I have always found the people who complain are those people who dont pay their rent or keep their apartments clean. There are more things in life to stress over.
