Doral Apartments is not a safe, friendly, or happy place to live. Management does not care about security concerns, apartment upkeep, or complaints about noisy and/or problematic residents.

The apartments ARE large, however they have not been updated since the 70's (my opinion) and management does not appear to have any interest in renovating anything.

The complex spends obvious money on the front office area in an attempt to make it look nice. The model apartment that they let you see looks VERY nice, however the actual apartments are NOT updated and as "modern" as the model.

Utilities at this complex are not individual, you pay for "your portion" of the entire building. Meaning...even if you keep your heat low, or don't use a lot of water you still pay for the 15 people living next to you that take 10 showers a day. Also, you pay your gas to a company in Ohio that just reeks of a scam. Pass this one by unless you want to be shelling out $$ every month for other people's showers and heat.

Management at the time I resided here was very bad. They have no interest in resident concerns....but don't be a day late with your rent check...even if the first falls on a Sunday...collecting money seems to be the one interest they persue with any vigor. A great example is UPS delivery. As anyone who ever lived in an apartment knows...you are never there when UPS delivers. DORAL would, for a time, accept deliveries on your behalf while you were gone. Well, someone with access to THEIR office (can you say an employee') was stealing packages. Rather than utilize security or some other method to eliminate the thievery...Doral simply stopped accepting deliveies....REAL convenient for you right' Probably not, but the easiest thing for them to do. Rather than take care of the problem, it is easier to eliminate the service itself. This is the DORAL mentality.

Avoid Doral Apartments this is NOT a good place to live. Obviously this is only my opinion and your own mileage on it may vary. Caveat Emptor...but don't say I didn't try to warn you.

by the way, you pay for your own share of utilities. the bill is in my name and i pay for only my share, not "my portion"
