From the moment I moved in, I've never experienced such an inconsiderate and unsafe environment. I can't believe anyone would say this is a nice/safe place to live!!! I live by the small pool and there has been a lot of suspicious activity in the complex. The pool was vandalized more than once last summer. My car was dented while parked. I and 3 of my neighbors woke up one morning to flat tires on our cars. There are big and nasty bugs in my apartment despite monthly pest control measures. The apartments are nasty. Mold is growing all over my bathroom ceiling and walls (it appears it was just painted-over before I moved in). My bathroom floor has standing water underneath as I can tell from the hard-water crud in the seams of the tiles. The navy/black carpet will stain your socks and feet (I think they spray-painted it to make it look new). My furnace is louder than a semi truck. There is no insulation what-so-ever so I'm paying out the you-know-what for heat and air. Maintenance takes forever to respond. My laundry was stolen from the small laundry facility and the office staff was not concerned nor helpful. I'm taking a copy of the police report to them this week. There are kids that run around and sit on people's cars. I know of 3 cars that have been broken into/vandalized at any hour of the day/night in the past year. The buzzers outside the 'security' doors are missing/broken. The locks have been damaged several times and one morning I found that they had been vandalized; the doorknobs were taken off and I was locked in the building. 'Emergency' maintenance took at least 20 minutes to respond--what if there had been a fire and I couldn't get out'''' And forget calling the office to complain about anything--they are rude and they do not care!! Also, the power goes out all the time. In the past year, I've been out of power a total of 13days. Pretty sad for living so close to downtown. They do not keep up any landscaping. Last year they hired some amateur tree-cutting company to come trim the grounds. They chopped up every tree and bush and now the place really looks shi**y!!! I liked the tree branches that provided some privacy and shade to my balcony!! It's not safe nor cost-efficient to live here. Please do not consider even spending a penny of your hard-earned money on this place. Spend your money somewhere you and your property will be safe. I'm looking for somewhere else...

I also live by the small pool. I, like yourself, have had many of the same problems. I had 3 loads of DIRTY laundry that were waiting to be washed, my basket, and soap all taken from the small laundry room. I have mold growing on my bathroom ceiling as well and a major ant problem. CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE OUT!

Sounds like River Hill is not doing well. I lived there for about 5 years and liked it fairly well at first. After the 'rent-a-cop' left things started to go sour. I think they might have rehired them after the 'rape' of the young girl. I will say I never felt unsafe walking my dog after dark until the last year or so that I lived there. Several people had scary encounters after dark. I had a drunk woman ask me for a ride one time, who was involved in a domestic violence situation that I wanted nothing to do with. Police cars were there on occasion with lights flashin'. The office staff became more rude over my time there, as well. I think the difficult renters burned out the staff, who then became rude to renters (such as me) who were quiet, dependable, paying-on-time renters. I was accused of leaving furniture outside - not asked - accused, which was really upsetting to me. The maintanence staff were awesome, in my opinion. Really nice guys who did the best they could. Would go out of their way to help, honestly. And the pools went downhill over time too, leaks and such that were hard for them to keep up with - not a priority of mine, but if it's a priority for you, it's not the best pool arrangment. Sure the washers and dryers had their issues too, but some of that is people that don't use them correctly. However, it would've helped if signs had been hung before you deposited your money. lol. That just stinks. My laundry was never stolen, but I heard other people talk about that, so I timed my laundry to the T to ensure it wasn't stolen. It's a great location - my favorite part of living there! Happy apartment hunting.
