I am looking to move to another apartment in another state and came across this website, so i decided to look up where i currently live Southgate. I honestly believe these negative comments are undeserved. i have had a few issues with the office staff mostly the former manager over towing my car while they were re-coating the parking lot, but it was my fault and the manager and the rest of the staff were very apologetic and very understanding. the office staff is very easy to get along with and the two maintenance guys are some of the nicest and most helpful people i ever met. any time i ever called in a work order it was done that day or when i happened to get locked out at 2am he was right there to let me in "sorry Dave". they are all very nice people and don't deserve the negative comments left by angry residents. it would be nice to see some of the satisfied residents find this site and give a un-biased opinion. after reading past reviews i am sure some will say i am a employee, but i assure you i am not. i couldn't do there job deal with angry people all day and listen to everyone's complainants, or work as a maintenance man cleaning up after you people, plunging your toilets just to be criticized. i hope the Southgate staff does read this you guys have been great!! i will miss you when we leave. THANK YOU!!!!!

Looks like the maintenece staff is joining in on the world of "lets leave reviews for ourselves." I noticed that many Southgate reviews reference the previous managers as being the problem to of course, attempt to make the "new" ones look better. The current management ( who returned after previously managing here) is the worst group of people you could find. I mean, they make excellent liars to reel you in to this dump called Southgate but then they will treat you like tar. They take advantage of the old, the young, and the single. They dont even have the morals to open a door for an old woman who lived here when she asked them to. Instead, the manager replied that she was "too busy" and rushed off. These are not the kind of people that you want to have access to your home or want your children to be dealing with. Please take my word for it before considering living here.

You seem awfully bitter and i am sure nothing i or the staff there could say to make you happy, but i assure you i do not work for Southgate. they could make the same accusations that an angry resident is the one leaving all the negative comments since everyone leaving the negative comments choose to stay anonymous. personally i would like to see the staff get on here and at least defend them selfs against ridiculous remarks such as not holding a door for an old lady. and Mr or Mrs anonymous if you like you can e-mail me and i will tell you which apt i currently live in and your more than welcome to come over and verify that i do not work for Southgate, and i can introduce you to a number of residents that live in my building that are very happy living here. oh and by the way the new management is not the old management i can prove that to you also. e-mail me anytime. my name is mike this is my sons e-mail but i will get it john0069@graffiti.net
