One star is giving Southgate more than it deserves. The place seems nice at first glance but you see the reality of it within a month of living there. My rent was raised immediatly after moving in and my room was so filfthy when I moved in that I had to do a full cleaning before bring in my things. I had rented out a one bedroom on the first floor but the manager stated that it was not available so i woudl have to rent a one bed on the second floor instead which was more costly. The noise is aweful day and night and there are a ton of smokers so that smoke is constantly in the apartment. I was told I would not pay for trash or water but ended up with a water bill and a trash bill 2x while living there already and I am still on my lease. My a/c did not work but they would not fix it. The staff was terribly rude right after I moved in all the time and the pool smells like baby poo. (right next to garbage) I do not feel safe there either as there were a lot of crime at night and at the daytime that they try to hide. I hate it here and wish I moved someplace else instead. I move here from the west coast and wanted a nice place to stay but got southgate enstead.

I agree with you totally Ive been here 4months Its not safe and I recvd a water bill 2x staff is horrible and just yesterday A man and a woman who stated there where with the welcoming committee wanted to get to know the neighbors Im on the 3rd floor and it was 10pm. I didnt open the door he insisted I open the door this is a very dangerous eniviroment I cant wait til my lease is up.The lights are always out. The staff should be fired
