Yes, Stonemill did flood again. Unfortunately, so did half of the Louisvill-Metro area. The office staff were there immediately and worked all through the night to help do whatever they could. They put us up in a hotel and moved us to another apartment within a week. They even gave us the option of moving off the property and would hire movers for us. We did lose almost everything, but the management has $25,000 of flood insurance for each apartment. The floodong problem is not just here at Stonemill, it is a problem in St.Matthews as a whole. Although this was a frustrating experience, the office staff was extremely helpful and did everything they could. We received a $500 check from the company for immediate expenses within three days. So come on people, let's cut them a little slack. The apartments are spacious and beautiful, the staff is friendly, the grounds are georgeous and the price is great for east-end living. Every apartment community has it's problems, but this really is a great place to live.

This flood was bad, true, but this reviewer fails to mention that these same apartments flooded in 1997, 2002, 2004, and twice in the last 3 months (July and Sept 2006). Unfortunately, the flood insurance does not cover vehicles and we did not see a single member of the apartment management (maintenance or office staff) until after the water had subsided 6 hours later. While the apartments on the east end are prone to flooding, many of the apartments on the west end (where these residents are being moved) have structural problems. Additionally, residents on the second floor and non-flooded first floor apartments have been getting sick from the mold spores and the apartment complex has failed to do anything. Is this the kind of place you want to live?

Please let the world know when you get reimbursed for your expenses. Because we do not believe you. This place has had a flooding problem since 1997. They were not walking around at 3:00 am when the flood was waist high and a resident was going door to door letting everyone know about it. The complex has yet to contact us. Anyone reading this should contact the State Attorney Generals office and FEMA.

Good luck!

This apartment comples floods even when the rest of Louisville does not flood! When the rest of Louisville floods, your cars are submerged in this apartment. In summary, this apartment complex has it much worse than the rest of Louisville as far as flooding goes. The management staff may be sympathetic but they do as little as they possibly can. The management was NOT there immediately after flooding. Phone calls seldom get returned!
