Flooded...July and Sept 2006

If you have been reading the reviews, you have no doubt noticed that there
are several comments regarding previous flooding incidents of this apartment complex. Unfortunately, we did not read these reviews before moving in and
have since suffered through 2 seperate floods: one in July 2006 and one on
Sept 22, 2006. The first flood in July was approx. knee high in the parking
lot and our car did suffer damage along with many others, but the apartment complex took a "we are not responsible" stand. The flood on Sept. 22nd was much worse and all
the basement apartments near the railroad tracks were flooded with a minimum of
3 ft of water. This is the 5th flood in 3 years on this property because they
were built in a flood zone but you will not ever hear this from management. If you want to verify the 1997, 2002, and 2004 floods, it is all documented. Despite FEMA requirements to notify residents of the potential for flooding, they never mention it to potential residents. They are slow to react (it took 7 hours for anyone to appear after the recent flood) and all we ever hear
is "I'm sorry, we'll call you tomorrow" and then of course receive no call. The apartments are beautiful and spacious, but be warned that between the floods, the
snotty office staff, and the recent
rash of crime (several apartment and car break-ins), this should not be on your list of places to live! And don't forget the 60-day move out policy!! Do NOT move here! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I know.

I currently live in the 2nd story apartment close to the railraod tracks that flooded. It was horrible and no one ever told us about the probability of flooding. There are very rude people in the office and do not take care of anything.

What's funny is that I work for a man who built the Spindlewick condos that lie right in the middle of Stonemill Village. He told me that they were both being built at the same time when Stonemill asked him if they could put a bunch of dirt on his land. He tells me all the time "They must have been crazy! With all that free dirt they dug out of their land and put on mine, our condos have never flooded, and theirs flood every year!" I actually live in Stonemill Village and love it (of course, I'm on the second floor and not quite next to the railroad tracks) but would never recommend any of the "Newly Remodled" one bedrooms to anyone...obviously they were remodled because they were destroyed by water. Too bad... -Laura, Louisville, KY
