Pine Club on vieux Carre was hell. The furnace was broken and the apartment was always cold. The "laundry room" looked like a sewer so I took my laundry to my friend?s place. I moved from another state for a job in the area, and made the mistake of shopping for an apartment on the net. The day I moved in, there was a paint smell coming through the vents, because maintenance had spraypainted the walls without covering the vents. I asked for vent filters to be installed but was told "we dont install them." The leaking furnace was the major problem and I asked maintenance twice to fix it: the first time, in October, they noticed a hole and said they fixed it and replaced the furnace-filter-screen, but I still got headaches from the gas; and the second time, in December, they said the flame was too high and was leaving a white residue on the screen. The leasing agents smoke and the propty mgr has cancer and they denied that the furnace was leaking. I showed them the sheet on which maintenance had written that the flue pipe has a hole, and they still charged me $1500 for breaking my 1-year lease. So instead of the stated $600 per month rent, it turned out to be $900 per month with the penalty plus free headaches, noise, and freezing cold. ***TO HELL WITH THEM.*******



Avoid The Fontenay apts on Shelbyville too. I viewed a smaller boxlike apt there in December and the furnaces there leak too (although not as badly) plus the hallway carpet stinks like poo and the tennis court area and gas station across the street are unsafe.

I paid $3000 to break my lease. They left cigarette butts/ash in the apartment for us to find when we moved in. NASTY!

Does management not read this stuff??? Nothings has been done to fix anything! All of these problems are TRUE!

I paid $1600 to break our lease. This is the nastiest place I have ever lived. When we moved in the sink in the bathroom was cracked in half and they said that they would not replace it because it did not leak.

I have not lived here a week. I moved here from another apartment close by to save a few bucks, but I am considering breaking my lease and moving in with a friend. The AC has yet to work, which is not good in August, they have come twice and said nothing is wrong. The doors to the bathroom and bedroom do not close, the place is dirty, and the last straw was when I called about a leak in my celing they said there was nothing they could do about it and I should talk to the manager. I'm just glad I was home to move my things before my $1,700 TV was dripped on more than it already was. Don't move here unless it's your only choice.
