If you face one of the roadways, it can get very loud with sirens at night, there are 3 hospitals within a mile (one just across the street). You can hear all of your neighbors in the stairwell, below you, barking dogs, etc.

The paint was peeling after 2 months, it's very hot on the third floor in the summer (electric over 145 a month and it was still 85 degrees inside)...If the temperature is over 80 you better just give up and go to an air conditioned department store.

The layout of the one bedroom apartment is cramped, only one closet for the entire place. No place to put vacuum cleaners and mops. No medicine cabinet or storage in the bathroom. The kitchen is really small, with no place to put the laundry supplies (the washer dryer is in the kitchen).

The environment overall is sterile and not very home-like. But it is not intolerable either. I've heard there have been problems with spiders from other residents.
