I'm sure that you've read a lot of negative reviews of this place, and let me tell you this, THEY ARE ALL THE TRUTH. This is the filthiest place that I've ever seen. Of course they show you this nice clean model when you apply, but the apartment that you get is dirty and in horrible disrepair. I can't believe that the city hasn't fined them yet. (Maybe they have.)Here are just a few of the things that are wrong with my building.

1. The carpets, walls, and tiles have dirt ground into them. Forget about trying to scrub it out.

2. There is a disgusting insect problem. You could probably open up your own insect zoo. Some apartments not only have roaches, but mice and bedbugs. I've even seen wolf spiders in here.

3. Trash is scattered everywhere. Outside and even in the halls. I can't believe that people do this to their own living environment.

4. Noise, noise, noise. The walls between the apartments are pretty thick, but the doors are paper thin. Drunk and stoned people make noise and vandalize the property constantly.

5. Poor construction and maintenance. Painters didn't clean the walls before they paint them. These lazy chaps even painted over the outlet covers and garbage disposal. Toilet not secured to the bathroom floor. Huges gashes in my wall. Cabinets are crooked. Even the door to my building is crooked and won't shut completely. The porchlights to the buildings have even been ripped off leaving exposed electrical wires. (Fire hazard) Maintenance men rarely respond to issues, and when they do, they only finish the job half-heartedly. Snow removal is a joke.

This place is pretty gross. the tiles in the bathrooms have started coming up and stick to your feet. The sinks are falling off of the wall. The bugs are disgusting! This reminds me of what wel-fare people live in and I'm paying over $500 a month for a dump! They let alcohol and parties down at the pool our children swim in. I will for sure not extend my lease.

I, too, live in Barkley Ridge and have found mice waste and have recently discovered bed bugs. Beside the vermin, I haven't had any problems. It just irritates me that I may have to throw out all of my furniture when I move because I am afraid of hauling bedbugs with me. I am a very clean person and this is a first to me. I moved here because it was affordable...I guess you get what you pay for. Sometimes I feel so disgusting in my own home. Sad to say, but I am glad to know that I'm not the only one with this problem.
