The Slum at Taylor Mill...

I had the unfortunate experience of residing in one of these dwellings for five months. They were so friendly and helpful and approved me within minutes. Then after I signed the lease everything changed. The "manager" and her little "puppets" caused my family nothing but problems. From improperly parked cars to neighbors above urinating down onto my balcony, we experienced it all. The sad thing is, nothing was ever done about it. Instead, I was taunted-- "Are you quiet' Do you always park perfect'" From then on, police were called everytime my husband parked his pick-up truck on the property. After a week, he had to park in the shopping plaza up the hill, and walk home. The "manager" is rude and very unprofessional. No wonder she has a revolving staff!
After two months of these problems (which included maintenance requests that were never completed-- my husband ended up doing them) we became serious about buying a house. Rather than custom building, we just bought one that had just been finished. And we happily put in our notice, and the torture intensified. The "manager" began calling me at work daily for little things (clarifying move-out date, etc.) Also, things started turning up missing from our apartment. On the day we were cleaning up the apartment (and it was left cleaner than it was when we moved in), one of the puppets called at 7:30 am and said she needs our keys by noon or else we would be charged for another month. So we immediately took the keys up there and gave them a large check for breaking our lease and left. A year later, we received a bill for $22.68 worth of water (which is probably the amount from the leaky faucets). The amount was circled in red ink!
I cannot believe the manager is still there! They did not simplify my life-- they made it difficult. And my expectations were definitely NOT exceeded-- they did not even come close to being met!
We love our new house and pray that everyone who dislikes the "Slum at Taylor Mill" can leave soon. Then Mary can manage all of the ants and roaches that have taken over the apartments as residents and make them pay rent! Seriously, the word in NKY is that these dwellings are the "Slums at Taylor Mill". And that word is a direct result of Mary's management style!

I'm sorry this family had such an awful time of things here. My wife and I have lived here for 10 years and we have never had any problems like this before. We enjoy living here and we always get prompt attention to all our maintenance requests and the staff have always been very polite to me and my wife.

I have to agree with Wayne and Jane. I also want to add that I think Mary Walters is an excellent building manager based on my experiences with her. I'm sorry these things happened to you and hope you are in a place better suited to you now. John building 5078.
