Let me start by saying I am not one of those people who just like to complain. I have lived in a couple other apts. in Baton Rouge and liked both of them. Maison Bocage is wonderful and Jefferson place is pretty good.
On the other hand, Cypress Lake is a hell hole. The walls are paper thin (I can hear my neighbor when he peeing), their are a lot of really shady people and the management is the biggest joke ever.
You will have a lot of problems, but don't even bother with telling the management. They will not even respond about 75% of the time. A lot of what other people have said is entirely true. The dishwasher is terrible, sewage does leak around the lake quite often, you can hear everything in the parking lot and apts around you and a there are a lot of really shady people who live/hang out there. When I moved in I thought it would be a place of young professionals, like Maison Bocage, Turnberry or Jefferson; instead it is a bunch of shady people bumping music and speeding motorcylcles through the parking lot. So, if your'e into crappy apts with cheap appliances and paper thin walls, shady tenants who play loud music all night, and possibly the worst management staff I've ever seen, than Cypress lake is the place for you! Thank God my lease is up in a couple of months.

Sherwood Acres tops this one! The staff are rude and their are drug dealers living there.
