For those of you that may not be aware of this venue, the glowing, "can do no wrong", 5.0 ratings that are written for most apartments are generally written by leasing agents or managers affiliated with that complex.

No apartment or complex is totally great, or totally horrible. Some neighbors are respectful, others aren't. Just realize that the posts from those "residing in the complex for 5 years" stating that this is the greatest place on earth, is more than likely an employee of the complex.

I live in Edgewood, and it has its good and bad aspects. Good:
- Gated community.
- Maintenance generally responds to problems quickly.
- The manager appears to care. (I'm referring to Connie, who is no longer with Edgewood)
Bad:
- For whatever reason, people working at the complex (pest control, maintenance, or any flunkie) barge into apartments virtually whenever they wish, without notice.
- The pools aren't maintained as well as they should.
- It's an older complex, that doesn't screen it's potential tenants. A few bad apples do spoil the entire bunch.
- The TV cable company associated with the complex is a total scam, and charges way, way, way too much money.

I would recommend the complex. Just go in with your eyes open.

I used to work in the apartment business (not at edgewood) and currently live at edgewood, I think edgewood is a nice complex, but has the typical issues that most apartment living has. I also want to say that this whole website is a horrible way to make a decision. People only look for somewhere to post a comment typically when they are upset. For every one bad comment there are probably 10 very pleased residents. I just dont think anyone should base their decisions on this website. For instance on a complex like edgewood which has probably around 300 units and changes out over 100 residents a year, if in the past 5 years or so they have had 10 negative comments, I dont think they are doing too shabby. Potential renters should take this into consideration.
