Oakleigh

 

I ended up at Oakleigh because my first apartment was destroyed by a storm, and I needed a new apartment FAST.

I rented this place sight-unseen, but was very pleasantly surprised when I first moved in.

Storage is ample, utilities are below what I expected to pay to air condition a top floor apartment, no creepy people hanging around, and as safe as you can expect to feel in Baton Rouge.

With the exception of a few undergrad college students and occasional children the complex is quiet.

The boys in a house next to our complex were louder than anyone around here! Currently the tenants seem to be young professionals, graduate students, and senior citizens.

My only complaints are minor: not enough washers/dryers available for complex use (but each unit has a washer/dryer hookup), too many speedbumps!, some mild flooding that occurs in some low areas of the complex, but the water quickly drains away when the rain stops.

The office staff are pretty stupid, but maintenance responds within 48 hours.

And you can't beat the location: within a mile of major shopping, 2 miles from the mall, easy interstate access, and a 20 minute drive to the LSU campus (when not stuck in traffic).

I'll live here until I decide to purchase my own home.
