Down, down, down in quality and up, up, up on price

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2008
My wife and I have lived here for four years. When I moved here in 2004, I was pleased with both the staff, the facilities, and the general quality of living. Over the years, I have seen this place turn from OK to a complete $**thole, especially over the last year or so. I have young daughter now and I cannot even let her play outside because of the all the dog feces. I have complained and the only response is a flier requesting residents to walk dogs along the fence. Oh yeah, you will see the flier next to the "Oops, did you forget to pay your rent" sign that is posted on the 1st of the month, every month. How trashy is that, if someone forgets their rent put a slip or note on their door. Of course, the sign is a testament to the overall nature of this property (i.e. money grubbing). All the comments about the mowing are completely true. I work the afternoon shift (5 pm to 1 am) and every Monday morning around 7:30 am here comes the Lawnmower Man. Just to give you an idea of the degradation of this place in 2004 and 2005, there were nice amenities like a seasonal shrimp and crawfish boil, a Xmas party, and a summer pool event. Now, we are lucky to get an occasional Xmas party. Also, early in our tenure, our frig. broke. It was replaced fairly quickly (good job). However, more recently our dishwasher handle broke. The maintenance man (yeah they have one maintenance man for some 200 apartments) rigged it to work with some other dishwasher handle. It worked but it takes someone like Lou Ferrigno open the damn thing. I asked could they order the correct part and they said "it works doesn't it'" Shame, shame. Oh yeah, once last thing to rant about. In early Dec. 06, we had a roof leak, not a big deal these are man-made structures. The problems was the response, apparently the complex had allowed the general contractor's contract to run out a month or so prior to and they never got around to getting a new one. Well around end of Jan. 07, they finally got a new general contractor (note they would not fix the inside until they fixed the outside, so we had water stains for about 2 months and probably continuous leakage), who repaired the roof. I asked them shouldn't they get someone to check the attic for mold or mildew (being that it is Louisiana). Their response: "We are not going up their".
Anyways, stay away if you can. At first glance it looks OK but trust me you'll regret it.
