Ridiculous

I'm finally out of this complex.
After the hurricane hit, it took management over a month to get the huge rotting trees out of the walk way. I climbed over them in my suit and heels for work every morning and ripped a pair of my good slacks doing so. (Both of my entrances were blocked with trees.) Debris was everywhere. They have a lawn maintenance crew that could have worked on this, but it just kept building up.
At one point at the end of my lease, my gate card stopped working so I brought it to the office to get a new one. First, they asked me if I knew how to use it. I just stared at them. I told them I had lived there for 4 years, of course I knew how. It had been working up until that very week. Then the far from friendly office manager "reprogrammed" it and sent me on my way.
The card didn't work.
I brought it in again. Her solution was the same, to reprogram it. I told her it didn't work the first time, could she just replace it' She finally agreed after much conversation over the topic.
The new card didn't work. At this point I was irritated because I was working late and had to wait and wait to piggyback behind another car just to get into my own apartment complex. Not to mention that I kept having to take an hour of my vacation time in the mornings to get this card situation resolved.
I brought the card in. She just looked at me like I was crazy, as if I found it fun to come in and cause trouble. Like I have nothing better to do. I told her to check it herself, which she did. It didn't work for her either. Yet, she gave me no solution. She would not give me a new card, nothing. I had to take the extra card back from my boyfriend which made him have to piggyback in the complex every evening for 3 months until my lease was up.
I'm a very calm, non-confrontational person. I was very polite to her, even though she was not in the least. I wanted to call and give a complaint to the main office, but never could get to a real person. Since the new management has taken over, this place has really taken a turn for the worse.
When the breezeway lights go out, ladies, don't even bother calling to report them out. They never get to them. I once called twice a week for four weeks before someone got around to changing the light so I could see to put my key in the door. If I had a ladder, I would have done it myself!
Bottom line is that this place is a joke. Highly unprofessional, do NOT care about their tenants or the grounds. The staff are very unfriendly, rude people.
Not to mention the rent is ridiculous...
Do not rent here.

You know, you sound quite ridiculous in expecting your apartment complex to pick up a magic wand and just make all the hurricane damage go away immediately. I don't live in your apartment complex (never have) & have lived in my house for 10 years. I just so happened to be on this site looking around as it looked interesting. It took me 3 months to get a contractor out to my house to get my damages fixed. And as far as the trees that fell on my house & my sister's house, it took two weeks to get supplies to get them cut apart. Once we had the materials, it took my husband, his friend, and several family members nearly a week just to get a couple of trees out of two yards. Some of my friends still have damages on their house not fixed. You apparently did not get out & around the city after the hurricane. Where do you think the magic fairies were going to come from to get those grown trees out the way? Did you not realize that some areas of the city didn't have power for 3 weeks? Did you not realize that there were no stores open for days to buy saws? Don't you realize unless you had tons of money that you were not going to get instant contracting? And you complain that you had to walk over trees to get out your apartment. Apparently you didn't watch the news because I assume you had no electricity. You were fortunate that those trees didn't fall on your home. There were several apartments near LSU where people had the roofs taken off and lost all they had. You should be grateful that you made it thru the storm & didn't lose a thing other than some pants. Now that I think about it, that apartment complex on Bluebonnet still has blue tarps 6 months later. And your management company acted slow?
I can see why the people in the office looked at you like an idiot when you brought in your gate card with problems. It is par for the course.

The person who replied to the above review must have a ton of time on their hands... wow. You wrote a novel to dog on this person, and yet you didn't even live in this complex? Get a life. I lived in this complex for years and was there when the hurricane hit. All the complexes surrounding us had been taken care of - ours was the only one untouched. The trees blocking our courtyard were potential for lawsuits.
And by the way, if you use cliche statements like "par for the course", you may want to think hard about how you are using it and that its relative. Get a degree.
Now, I think I'll definitely go ahead with my review.
