I moved in after Katrina, sight unseen because there wasn't an apartment to be had in BR and I was tired of living with other people.
The popcorn ceiling in the bathroom is peeling and I requested that it be fixed, but all they did was take down the part that was hanging and left it on the tub. The carpet was not new, the bath tubs in both bathrooms had big brown rings around them, that I had to asked to be acid washed. The sink in the hall bathroom was all chipped up so they painted it, but of course it had to be repainted a few times. I've had 2 leaks from the a/c unit, that left big white spots in my floor and had to request someone to clean it, and the oven heating element has been fixed 4 times in 2 years.
It was pretty quiet around here, but that is changing as they have more new complexes going up and they are filling the vacancies with anyone. I feel safe, people leaves toys and bikes outside and no one has stolen them. You can request service via the internet and they show up the next day. It usually takes a few visits to get the repair fixed, but they are responsive.
As stated in a previous review, rent does go up with each renewal. I have 2br and 900 sq ft. I started at 725 and now it's time to renew and they want 835, which isn't bad with utilities, but I have the option to renew at $910 for 13 months and they will replace all of my appliances (at the discretion of management). I will not be renewing. The bathrooms are so small and this place seems some serious updating and renovation. Now they want a full 60 written notice when you intend to move.
