Horrible

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

I lived at Ole London Towne Apartments from October of 2007 until November 2008. I was initally attracted to this property because years ago it was "THE" place to live in Baton Rouge. I was sadly mistaken when I moved in! Within the first few months of living there I was welcomed home one night to a SWAT team, LA state troopers, and fire departments.... not because of any fire, but because there was a drug bust next door to me. Sadly, the apartment complex had been made aware of this months earlier, and failed to inform the people who would be directly effected. There were bugs, and everything broke so easily. They advertise "FREE" internet, but it would be much more worth it to pay additional for your own. It did not work most of the time and it was slow when it did work. Also, they would send people to fix your apartment who had no idea what they were doing. Once, my freezer door would not stay closed (the magnet one the inside had worn out)and the repair guys came in and put tape on the door so that it would stay shut. If that was not tacky enough right before I was about to move they started doing renovations. I contacted the company who was doing the work to see if they could put their work on hold until I moved. They agreed...... or so I thought. They begin about a month before I moved out comming in and doing all sorts of odd jobs that they said "would not be in the way of my packing". First they covered my fire place and removed my mantel. OK that was not to bad, but what was bad was that they moved everything off of my mantel and put it all over my house. I could not find my wedding pictures for weeks! Then they replaced the facuets and knobs on the sinks. This was the best upgrade of the entire apartemnt. The week that I was moving out they decided to come in and do the counters as well as the cabinets. I thought they really had something going, but I was so wrong. They painted over the existing cabinets and counters and covered them with a gloss to make it look like marble. They had paint on my TV, my couch, and my dog!!!! It was horrible. One day I even walked in to see them eating food out of my fridge because they thought I had already moved out. When this was addressed with the leasig office, I was told they could do noting about it. Now I have been out of the apartment for 7 weeks and I feel like I am in bliss, the only thing is STILL have not gotten my deposit back.
