I lived here in college. At first not a bad place to be had some cool neighbors so it was all good. Then we moved out. We were all turned into a collection agency because the management said there was over $1,000 worth of damamge done to our apartment.
There was no damage at all and the place was cleaner than it was to begin with when we left.
We moved out right when new management took over so that's probably where they tried to screw us.
We had no idea that they had even tried to collect money from us....which they didn't attempt to do as we were all local Baton Rouge residents and never got a notice from them until we were issued to collection notice. Furthermore, the colletion notice was only mailed to my old roommate with my name on the collection as well. We wound up having to pay the complex $200 although we had already paid $800 in pet fees and with the "estimated damages" being well over $1,000 nothing added up. Also, there was another group of people living in our exact apartment within a week after we left.

Believe me... you just don't end up leaving an apt complex owing $1,000. You probably destroyed your carpet or walls & just don't wanna fess up. You also probably didn't leave your forwarding address and the management company couldn't find you, so you didn't get a notice.

Goodgrl73.... glad to hear thatyou have not been the victim of these tactics. But you are naive. This does happen and this complex is well known to do exactly what is being described.
