Very cheap construction but great staff

I rented this apartment with my family from Feb 2008 and we are moving out a year later because we are military and are being relocated to Fort Jackson. I will say that the contruction of these apartments is VERY cheap! The granite is not real granite, the wooden floors are really laminate and the roof leaks water which has caused some unsightly stains. However, they are so pleasing to look at. I love the wooden blinds, the kitchen setup, there is a big pantry and the bathrooms are more beautiful than any I have seen in an apartment. The gym is so amazing you will NEVER find any gym in Baton Rouge as accomodating as this one and it is open 24 hours!! The pool area is nice but I have seen nicer ones that have a hot tub. As far as the comments about a rude staff...I have no clue what you are talking about! Jessie was the nicest manager ever and the new lady that I met this morning is sweet as can be and very helpful. Camille was not too pleasant or nice but she is gone now. Chrissy is wonderful! I was actually kind of upset because after I renewed my lease I got a paper stating that my rent was being raised from 1234 a month to 1375 a month!! If we wouldn't be moving because of military reasons I wouldnt be able to do anything about it which I think is incredibly wrong!! Parking IS always an issue and on Friday and Saturday nights guests are filling all of the spaces which should be reserved for RESIDENTS ONLY!! I was 9 months pregnant and having to walk with two arms full of groceries 2 whole buildings away from mine. And the cars in the lots were NOT residents!! I am also upset because a nurse that works with my husband just got quoted the exact same apartment we rent (the biggest 2 bedroom and we are on the 3rd floor) but on the second floor and it was only $1100!! So go figure how they get one floor below us for the same layout yet they would pay $100 cheaper than we do now AND our rent was scheduled to increase by over $150. Overall, the Regent is pricey and they do sell you on real amenities that are actually fake, but you have to figure living here will save you cable and gym costs so it actually evens out in the end!
