Not worth the price

I have lived here going on two years and the problems started on move in. The price is higher than i expected but I thought "with this price, it should be well kept." I was wrong. Lets see, my front doesnt latch unless you slam it, they caulk the ac filter door which rips paint off everytime they open it. The master bathroom's drawers are bolted shut and the tile on the floor is coming up. In another review i saw that they said they shut the water off all the time, they do. I had plumbers in my apt. a few times and I constantly see trucks out with water coming out the ground all the time.
They are increasing the rent to $795 and they say its to go with market price. Well the complex was built in the early 70's and their solution to everything is "paint over it" over and over again! they recently painted the front doors a blue color, WHILE THE DOORS WERE SHUT!! so now when you open the door, its two colors.
So for the age of the complex its not worth the price or hassle.
--little side note: when we first moved in they changed what apartment it was because they said the people arent moving out yet. But they had another one almost done which we took. They never let us see the apartment or any other apartment because they said it wasnt done. This went on for about a month and we finally moved in. I think if i would have seen the apartment first, i wouldnt have moved in but we paid the fees and all so we moved in. SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV

Realitybytes...I lived there from 2002-2006 and hated it. Right after I moved in I had water pouring out of the master bath vent one Sunday afternoon. Water leaked down the walls above the shower, the wallpaper peeled and I had a nice mold colony form in many places. Same with my 2nd bath. Mold was also all over under my kitchen sink and the plywood they put on the bottom warped and buckled from water damage. My list goes on but my allergies have improved since moving out. The good news is that there are numerous resources on renter's rights online. findlaw.com is a good resource. In fact, http://realestate.findlaw.com/tenant/tenant-safety/landlord is a good place to start since Sherwood Acres has still obviously not adequately addressed the safety/crime issue. I certainly recall all of the illegal activity that went on while I lived there and the fact that residents were never made aware of crime that happened. LOL, I???m not at all surprised about how they???ve ???repainted??? front doors. That???s typical for SA.
