I have been living here at Sherwood Acres for close to 3 years now. I think honestly that most people that write horrible reviews of this place are just pissed that the office has strict guidelines and fines if you dont get your rent in on time. I have been late on my rent ONE time and I have NEVER had problems with the office staff or anyone in maintenance. The crime rate here cant be different from any other apartment in this area! I personally have never had anything happen to me here and I am a 23 year old female who lives alone. I also work as a bartender so sometimes i do not get home until as late/early as 3 am. We have 4 courtesy officers here and personally I feel as safe as i would living alone anywhere else.

One of my friends told me to check out this website when she was researching to find an apartment. I think its said that people who get mad because they cant pay their rent on time or they're asked to actually keep the outside of their apartments clean (OH GOD THATS TERRIBLE!!!!!) take to bashing the complex on this website. Its ridiculous. People really need to find better things to do with their time. I like where I live. I believe its a great community for all ages. Seriously people, Get a life.

Yes my friend will be moving here soon.and NO I do not work for sherwood acres. Its pitiful that people on this site accuse anyone, who enjoys living here and has no problem with the staff, of working for the complex.

I think the above post was either made by an employee who is not claiming to be one, or a friend. I ALWAYS paid my rent 5 to 10 days before the 1st and we always had problems! We also kept the apartment impeccable inside and out, so that wasn't a reason either. I have since moved into a gated community and, yes, the crime rate IS different! At the complex I am currently living at, one of the rental agents used to work for Sherwood Acres and admitted to the HORRIBLE conditions of the place. She admitted that they cut corners, didnt care about the residents and that they were told how to talk to residents versus potential residents. If you want to live there, have fun and carry a knife!

Agreed, this place sucks. I always pay my rent on time too. I'm quiet and clean and the office staff treats me like I'm one of their deadbeat tenants(and don't think for a minute that the muggers and robbers here aren't actual residents...I don't think they actually do background checks--I have some scary neighbors). I'm a woman in my late 20's, living alone, and I don't feel safe here at all. I have lived in many many apartment complexes in Baton Rouge and I have definitely felt safer in all of them. Anyone who says that it is the same everywhere is obviously having their first apartment experience away from their parents' house. And I have actually tried to reach the courtesy officer a few times, with no success. So I agree with the first response, the original poster is more than likely an employee or a friend of an employee, or an idiot, or someone who lived somewhere worse before. That's all I can gather.

Well i gather that youre both idiots and if you dont like the place you live, MOVE. I live at sherwood and havent had one problem with anyone. Im sick of people getting on here and terrorizing anyone who writes a good review about their complex!thats funny that ANYONE thinks a "GATED" Community is SAFER! WHAT GATED COMMUNITY IN BATON ROUGE DOESNT HAVE BROKE DOWN ASS GATES ALL THE TIME?!?! NAME ONE!?!?! and that just prompts more crime! you ppl r so dumb gawd
