Lots of things I like but ...

OK ... so there are lots of things that are great about living here. One fee includes basic cable, cable internet, all utilities and local phone ... which is nice. Eventually ... and I of course use the term loosely ... that same fee, or at least we all hope the fee will stay the same, will also include the various ammenities which aren't quite ready yet. I really love the dog in the parking garage ... as well as the smiles that always greet me as I'm arriving or leaving. (Of course I could do without the smiles from a few of the workmen as they sometimes creep me out.) Nevertheless, I find the guards quite pleasant ... though I've not had the pleasure of having them bang on my door due to noise issues. This doesn't surprise me, however, as the supposed sound proofing truly is non-existent. I do enjoy the luxury of having the parking garage, tho I wish some people would learn that one shouldn't try to break land speed records while driving inside one ... but hey what can be done about that' I do wish the elevator would work more often as, tho the garage is nice to have, i don't like to drive all the way up and down it several times a day. I also don't mind the stairs ... but 7 flights several times a day with a bad back, and several bags of various things make for extra chiropractor bills. lol. Thus, I do wish they'd do something about that elevator. Anyway, I generally like the people in the office (especially Trae, in response to another, what I consider, very inappropriate comment). However, I often feel that they're hands are tied with certain issues and it does tend to take quite a while to get maintenance and the like attended to. My view will one day be great ... it's not right now and I hate waking up to the sounds of heavy machinery ... but then I expected that. Of course, I did expect to be hearing a lot less of it by now ... nevertheless. Things here do seem to be constructed rather sloppily ... sloppy paint jobs, cracked molding, chipped porcelain, paint and footprints dried into the concrete floors, etc. That part I wish had been done better. I must say I'd be livid if I was being forced to uproot myself like the people in tower three. I hope they are getting some sort of rent decrease or something ... though I kind of doubt it. I'd say that one day this place will be a wonderful place to stay ... as long as the construction process is not as sloppy as some of the earlier apts have been. I'd say one day it'll be worth what I'm paying to stay here ... I truly don't feel like it is right now and my advice would be ... if you're looking at southgate ... wait. Don't discount it completely, just know that it's quite a ways from being the southgate towers that is advertised. Give it a couple of years and check back again ... and even then, I'd say talking with the tenants would be a must. Make sure all those wonderful ammenities actually exist and that "timely-ness" is no longer an issue. I'd say one day yes ... but as of now ... no.
