Here's the truth. Southgate has nice countertops, bathtubs, and raised ceilings. Southgate has bad guest parking, bad grouting along tiles, bad counter installation, cheap cabinets, cheap front doors and interior walls (which means you can hear everything going on in someone's apartment from the hall, not to mention I can hear my roommate TYPE in his room across the apartment with both doors shut), horrible air conditioners that break constantly and cause my energy bill to be ridiculous. The box downstairs didnt work for me for the first eleven months I lived here, they kept blaming it on my phones (which I received phone calls on constantly) when the real problem was the wrong number they put in the system. The elevators are always broken, cause me to climb six flights of stairs for a week at least once a month, the apartment is tiny, and they FORGOT TO RUN THE PROPANE LINE TO THE HOT TUB so it doesn't even work. Not to mention, they put the pool in between three eight floor tall buildings, and the size it is takes 12 hours to heat, (be decently warm), so obviously daylight does not permit that. The only "amenity" besides the apartment office and clubhouse up front is a ROLY POLY and those are just disgusting. I have a theory nothing here will ever get finished. Construction has been going on since I moved in and they seriously seem inept enough to never finish. PLUS, these are the first four towers of NINE---- so unless you LOVE beeping and drilling and all kinds of ridiculous noise from seven in the morning until six PM then don't move in for the next twenty years. This isn't luxury, and I don't care if my parents ARE paying for it, this place is NOT worth the money. I can't wait to get the hell out.
